The Mask Killer
Chapter 5
In the previous chapter, Caxemina finally catches the suspect thanks to Eduardo's help. They head to the station to interrogate the suspect. We invite you to read the continuation of the story…
In the interrogation room, the suspect evades Caxemina's gaze. She starts interrogating.
"I know you are the masked man, confess!!!"
"What are you talking about, miss?"
"Don't lie to me, tell me then why did you run away?"
The suspect remains silent and bows his head towards the table. The detective grabs him by the hair and lifts his face looking for an answer to her question. The man shrieks in pain and after a few minutes of crying and pain replies, "It's just that I stole some items from the supermarket, but I'm going to pay for them."
"You're lying you shameless vermin, admit you're the murderer."
"Murderer... I nooooo!!!"
"What did you ask for the piano strings for?" the detective asks him.
"Piano strings? I don't even have a piano."
At that instant, they tell the detective that there was a murder near the river, and a piano wire found next to the corpse. She rushes out to the scene of the crime and reproaches herself. "I fell into a trap, but how stupid."
She arrives at the scene of the crime and it is the same scene, the piano wire, the mask thrown aside. This doesn't seem to be over, the carnivals are still going on and the potential victims could be more, she doesn't know what to do. If she doesn't capture the masked man now they may not be able to.
After doing the survey and requisitioning the entire area, Caxemina has no other choice but to remain on surveillance, waiting for another opportunity to hunt the killer. As the water laps at her body, she begins to take up the loose ends.
The foam merges with the surrounding ideas in her head, she remembers the interrogation with the suspect and suddenly something shines from that, it was not unnecessary, there is a very clear clue. she overlooks it, but now it makes perfect sense. Maybe she has her killer closer than she would have liked.
She rushes out of the bathroom, dressing quickly, as darkness falls over the city. She can't let there be one more victim of the killer. It is the last night of the carnival and the killer will surely be looking for his next victim. Time is running out and she rushes as fast as she can to the instrument warehouse.
