Let me tell you a story of a little girl. A little girl who was proud of herself and along the way lost everything she had ever believed in.
This little girl was highly independent and vocal about what she liked and disliked. It started when she was a little toddler, and would throw furious tantrums to get her way.
She was determined and focused, and stubborn. Little did she know these qualities would backfire one day. She believed she would conquer the world, and could do anything she put her mind to.
She believed in herself to the point that she was proud of all her achievements, but at the same time was proud of who she COULD become one day.
Highly creative and intelligent, she was kind too. But along the way she lost everything. Instead of standing up for herself, she started hiding away from the word. She tiptoed around everyone and was scared of hurting their feelings. She never voiced her opinion, and was always agreeable so she would be acceptable.
She was bullied by her sister, she was ignored by her dad. Her little sister was indifferent to her, and her mother was distant. The moment she started having a little bond with her, she died.
Her relatives blamed her for her mother's death. Her father married again, and a narcissistic step-mother would suddenly take the place of her nice safe mother.
She shrunk and shrunk so as to take as little space as possible. She forgot to live and thrive. She found a partner at last. A black sheep of his family.
She blames herself for everything. She has lost herself to the point that she doesnt even feel capable of doing normal daily tasks.
What do you think happened to her? Its a long story cut short. A people pleaser put in a blender and spit out into a garbage can. Do you think she could ever come out of this quicksand? Or her "niceness" would take her to her grave?
Any people pleasers out here? What is your journey? Ive seen so many people pleasers who lost themselves in pleasing others.
THEY FORGET ONE THING: PEOPLE WILL NEVER BE HAPPY WITH YOU.
