Hello Wonderful Community Members!
Hope you're all doing great! ✨

Out of the blue, life can throw challenges that test our resilience.
Sometimes, it feels like we're not quite ready for what it brings our way.
Have you ever been in dire need of something that you became devastated after several failed attempts to get it?

Does the same experience keep repeating itself no matter how hard you try?

What is it that made you lose interest in life when you longed so deeply for something to happen, but yet it never came to fruition?

Have you ever felt like it's just you against the world?
Nobody to speak or stand up for you?

There was a time I felt this way.
I was drained emotionally, mentally, psychologically and even health wise. My pillow got tired of my tears. No one came to my rescue. I had to pick up my broken self and face life the way it was.
The human life experience is a journey adorned with unexpected turns, challenges and joy.
I feel that the situation happened for me to learn that life most times doesn't turn out the way we plan.

Life often presents us with moments of frustration, acting as a reminder of its unpredictability and challenges. From eluded chances to unforeseen obstacles, frustration can come in various forms and intensities, affecting our mental and emotional well-being. Yet, amidst these trials, there exists a profound opportunity for growth and resilience.

Basically, I was raised in a family whose sole purpose in life was to provide me with the best of everything and the most precious thing of all: A place in a prestigious university.
My parents were always one step ahead of everything and tried their best to get me the perfect education.
They kept telling me: "Vee, this is the big time. You're going to be the most famous and successful of us all".

I was always excited that my parents wanted me to pursue a career in medicine but as I grew older, I had other things on my mind. Soon after graduating high school, I started developing a keen interest in acting.

I didn't tell my parents about this interest of mine because I knew how it would make them feel, but I still wanted to pursue my dream regardless.
As days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, I found myself engulfed in the world of acting, nurturing my passion in the quiet corners of auditions and drama classes.
However, despite my dedication, success seemed elusive. Rejection became a familiar companion, being a thorn to my aspirations.

The strain between my passion and my family's expectations weighed heavily on me. I felt torn between fulfilling their aspirations and chasing my own dreams. The relentless pursuit of a career in acting seemed like an uphill battle, and at times, I questioned if it was worth it.

Despite the immense efforts invested by my family to secure an admission to a prestigious university, the outcome didn't align with their expectations. Each attempt to gain admission seemed to meet with disappointment. The repeated rejections took a toll on everyone involved, leaving a sense of frustration and uncertainty about the future.

While the doors of the university seemed firmly shut, the world of acting welcomed me with open arms. It wasn't without its own set of challenges. Rejections, doubts, and uncertainties loomed large in this competitive field. But with each setback, I persevered, determined to make a mark in an industry that resonated with my soul.

The Ugly Experience

One fateful day, I auditioned for a role that was advertised on TV. I put a lot of work into it, after I was done, I went to the office for submission. On getting inside the office, I met a very chubby, white bearded man, if I'm guessing right, he should be in his early sixties. He could barely move his body around. I was so scared that I wished the ground would open up to swallow me. He stared at me for a while, and gave a malevolent grin, revealing a row of jagged, yellowed teeth, giving an impression of malice and intent.

With a shaky voice, I managed to say;
“Good afternoon Sir, I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to audition for the lead role”

He replied, " Oh it's you. Look, thanks for coming in, but we're not considering you for the role.
You're just not the right fit. Maybe try something more your type next time”.

Before I could numble a word, he had already asked me to leave his office.
I felt like my world had come to an end. I cried and cried. The tears seemed endless, each drop was a testament to the shattered dreams and the overwhelming sense of defeat. It felt like the summit of every effort had led to this moment of heartbreak.

The Triumph

Through the blurred vision and the weight on my chest, I saw a glimmer of determination. I wiped away my tears, straightened my posture, and whispered to myself,
"This isn't the end. It's a setback, but I'll rise stronger from this.”

Slowly, through dedication and unwavering persistence, my talent and hard work started bearing fruit. I secured roles, received praise for my performances, and gradually carved a path for myself in the world of acting. The disappointments from the university rejections became distant memories as my achievements in acting accumulated.

My journey, once filled with frustration and unmet expectations, transformed into a tale of resilience and triumph against the odds. My success in acting not only validated my passion but also served as a testament to the power of perseverance and staying true to my dreams despite initial setbacks.
