Beyond The Looking Glass is the second book in the Unseen series, a story that came to me from the other side. A story where I thought I was just the narrator until I heard the Words of the Unseen.

This second story goes beyond time and place and mixes the long ago with the here and now. Because history keeps repeating, until we learn and do something about it.

Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 71

Dear Reader, we talked about life in the past and that you can make as many plans as you like, yet life often follows its own course.

Expected the unexpected and count on dying, that is about all the certainty you have.

Its also what keeps life interesting, what gives us hope, what gets us out of bed.

Although sometimes.... I wish to stay in. Crawl up against the one I love, feel her big soft behind push against my you know what and stay like that forever....or until I get hungry.

It pained me to see the Voetjes so downcast, and it wasn't until many months later that I would see her again.

That next time would be the very last time, but at least she left me with a happy message.
She might not be the firstborn, but her time would come.

And...
"that pusher, that took her place, would throw her high in the air as a baby and never let her fall."

He would be her big brother and always look out for her. She left me there on that sofa in the Alpujarra with a stupid grin on my face.

But as always I am getting ahead of myself and the story.

Deliah and I married twice, once for the law and once for the spirit world.

The handfasting was wonderful, everything felt so good and full of confidence I could completely immerse myself in my role as a man, finally.

Although not everything went as smoothly as that day...

Never had I considered that Claudia might have lied to me twice. Until that night a couple of months before the wedding when she called...

"You can forget your job in Nicaragua with my mother, you can never go to that country again. They will arrest you for bigamy"

It sounded threatening, dark, and sinister. Where did this come from, who was this, why?

Claudia and I had been friends for years, she had long ago dismissed our marriage as a piece of unworthy paper that her mother had put a stop to the day I left the country.

And now this phone call???

Deliah and Clau had been friends for months, I have photos of them together. Like twins, both small, dark, sexy, soft, and plump. Like sisters... it seemed.

What kind of game had she been playing all that time, or was there no game?

Did Claudia in the back of her mind believe that one day I would be single again? That we were connected for life and that someday, somewhere in a beautiful warm country she would still be my wife?

Her rant kept on going, and when it was finished I was completely thrown off my game.

I didn't understand it at all.....nothing, until I remembered.

Suddenly the image came back of how years ago I had cast a spell to bring Claudia back to me after a number of years.

That spell was swallowed up by the house I lived in at that time as it would soon be demolished and make me homeless.

Those months of homelessness probably erased the memomry, but now it's back. Is this because of what I did then?

"There was also something about that present, it didn't feel right at all," Deliah says after a while.

"Present?" I ask.

"Yes, that lingerie set. Didn't you wonder why I never put it on?"

Lingerie set, what is she talking about? Then I remembered the birthday present a few months ago. A cute set was given to my new love, by my two great loves of the past Claudia and Mel.

"Oh that set, no sorry I'm usually too busy undressing you to pay attention to that."

How could I believe that the two girls I had loved most would happily accept number three? How naive a boy I had been.

I haven't spoken to Claudia since that night.
Deliah and I performed a ritual together to block her energy to protect ourselves and the mulberry in the womb.

I always remained curious as to what had sparked Claudia's action. Years later I asked Mel about it. She said she didn't know anything about it.

Deliah was sure that someone had done something with that lingerie set it burned as she touched it. That was indeed not Mel's style. She was jealous but absolute vanilla when it came to magic.....but who then?

Unlike Claudia who I had loved to be there as well Mel did come to the handfasting, as did the most famous witch in the Netherlands, Margarita.

I am still thankful to all the important people that were there, also she who I could not see.

The request was to not bring presents but something to eat, to share.

I have never seen a banquet table filled with this much beautiful food. Many hands put lots of effort and love into a dinner that I could not enjoy enough because of the crowds and Deliah being tired after a full day.

Thankful I was to all that visited, to Margarita, to the band that played; thank you Omnia.

These Magic Moments

And above all, thank you, Grandma, for your garden, I have never known a more magical place.

The happiest day of your life, I doubt that very much but it was a very special one.

Man and woman, before the law and behind the veil.

I thought I was ready, I didn't know what to expect. But what I eventually got.... I had never seen coming.
