Easter Egg Decoration for Fine Motor Skills Development

in #hive-1994203 years ago

Hello my dear Community!
How is everybody doing?

I was having a cold and a lot in between happened but other than that things are great here! I'm SO happy that we have warm weather and britghy days! 😎☀️

Easter is so close!

And I thought to share with you here this activity I made with my toddler last year, when he was only 2 yrs and 3 mo. Maybe it's useful for you too and gives you some respiro time between all the things we do all day long!

My son always loved to play with tiny things. He still does BUT I was just EXTREMELY lucky to have a child who doesn't put things in his mouth. That's why I was able to do all kind of activities with him that required using small items and objects.

SO be careful about these things, though for us wasn't a problem. It's always a good idea to not letting your child alone when they're playing with tiny things that can get easily in their sweet little mouths. 👶

The basic for this activity is to have one peace of cardboard. The Bigger, the Better! You use it to cut a BIG Easter Egg!

And then, you need some CARIOCA (to make the trace lines) and different items and objects you have at home. If you don't have any, you can paint some PASTA or BEANS.

Here is how I painted RAINBOW BEANS and RAINBOW PASTA using white winegar and food coloring. Easy peasy! And now, with the Ester on the front door, food coloring is everywhere (egg coloring).

About this activity itself, it's not something you would thought to be very educational but activities like this, actually, develop a child's control of the small muscles of the hands (fine motor skills) which later, allow children to make the precise movements necessary for forming letters. Plus, improve hand/eye coordination, attention span .

QuoteAlso, tracing is an effective way to teach handwriting. By having your child trace shapes and maze-like paths from left to right, top to bottom, or through jagged and curvy lines, you can help your child develop fine motor control. This can also help her learn how to orient her movements from top to bottom and left to right. (source)

Straight, zig zag, and curved lines are all appropriate to practice around age 3yrs. But feel free to do this fun and beautiful activity with kids up to 5-6 yrs old? It really depends on every child but I thing it's OK for older kids too.

My son decorated this Egg several times a day, always different from the previous one.

CREATIVITY is now on the flow!

Let them chose the items, the colors, everything.
Let them a few moments and try to observe what are they doing, how do they handle little things. You many notice some aspects regarding their ability to grab and squeeze. See where do they need help and stay back if they don't need any help. Try not to give too many indications.

Later on, we used our COLORED RAINBOW PASTA to decorate this egg.

I love how it turned out!❤️

You just need to have these colorful and fun pastas already done. They are so versatile, you can use them in many many activities for sorting and coloring.

EGG DECORATION with RAINBOW BEANS

And in the end, this was a bit harder because the beans are not very stable and if you just 'breathe' upon them, they will fly away.

But it was SO SO WORTHY!!! The result was awesome! I loved it so much, I helped a bit my little one here because it requires a lot of dexterity to get it through but for older kids, this is really fun!

That's all friends!

I hope you enjoy my post!

We surely had such a great time making this! I like that it's cheap and DIY! You can color pasta or beans if you don't have the craft items we have. Also, feel free to do your own crafts for decoration. For example, maybe painted little pebbles works too!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Easter and may Blessings!

love, missdeli 💛

Thank you very much!

Blessings! I love your teaching and learning strategy because it is very appealing to the little ones because of the variety of colors you use. Very beautiful landscapes.

Peace and good!

Thank you very much! I try my best everytime to get this appealing 'look' so the little one could be attracted and interested of the activity.

It seems to me an excellent strategy for children's concentration and to encourage them to solve problems such as being able to follow the line or curves, even if it is something that we see as simple as adults. I like the color and practice of your strategies, in addition to the use of various elements. Greetings

Yes, it is! Thank you for stopping by and always commenting!
