On the 3rd of December, I set out to add 3172 Hive to my stake to reach my yearly goal of 72'000 Hive Power before the year is over. This somewhat crazy December challenge is still ongoing. I made my last update about a week ago. At the time, things were looking good but since then things have changed a bit.
No more easy sources
At the beginning, it was quite easy to add stake by using HBD, swap.hive and liquid hive. In the past days, the increases have become much smaller even if I had some post rewards that were added to the mix.
Today, I swapped about 35 hive worth of HBD from post rewards and I also managed to pull 50 Hive from hive-engine. Together with the organic increase of my stake, I have managed to power up 109 hive.
The lead in respect to the benchmark is getting smaller
For the duration of the challenge, I calculated that I needed to add 117 hive every day to complete the challenge. This is my benchmark. While 6 days ago, I still had an easy lead of 641 hive over the benchmark, this lead is melting away now. With 15 days to go, this lead has come down to 303 hive. Since the last post, I only managed to add 364 hive power...

From where to take?
In the coming days, I have only one post reward that will be due and then I don't really know from where I will be able to take to close the gap. There are 1348 hive remaining. The organic growth is of about 24 hive per day which represents about 360 hive for the remaining 15 days. So I need to come up with about 1000 Hive from other sources. It's going to be a challenge indeed :-)
