A week ago, I started my ambitious challenge to power up 3172 Hive until the end of the year and thereby reaching my goal of 72'000 Hive power.
I have to say that I believe more and more that I can reach my target. I had started by powering up existing liquid Hive and HBD. After that, things looked a bit more bleak because I didn't really know from where to take especially with Hive prices going up quite strongly.
Swapping BTC
Today, the price of hive dropped quite significantly and I did my next move. I had collected 0.0014 swap.btc on hive-engine and today, I decided to exchange 0.0012 for hive. This allowed me to power up 350 Hive. I also got some HBD from a post reward that I exchanged as well today. It was a very good day with a total of 419 Hive powered up.
Well above Benchmark
When I started this challenge, I set a benchmark that would allow me to keep track of my progress. To define this benchmark I simply divided the number of hive that needed to be powered up by the number of remaining days. I then simply subtracted this number every day from the initial hive power. According to my benchmark, I should have today 69'647 Hive but I have 70'288, which means that I'm 641 Hive above benchmark.
Date | Hive Power | Difference with previous day | Benchmark | Difference to benchmark |

03.12.24 | 68828 | - | 68828 | - |
04.12.24 | 69154 | +326 | 68945 | +209 |
05.12.24 | 69376 | +222 | 69062 | +314 |
06.12.24 | 69400 | +24 | 69179 | +221 |
07.12.24 | 69750 | +350 | 69296 | +454 |
08.12.24 | 69846 | +96 | 69413 | +433 |
09.12.24 | 69869 | +23 | 69530 | +339 |
10.12.24 | 70288 | +419 | 69647 | +641 |
It looks really good! In the coming days there will be some post payouts and with the organic growth and curation rewards, I begin to be more and more confident that I will complete this challenge successfully.
