What is blocking the widespread use of HBD? [ENG/PL]

in #hivelast year

ENGLISH

The biggest problem of HBD is not the APR (higher or lower) but still too little utility of the token. Almost every time I want to pay for something with a cryptocurrency, HBD is excluded. There is BTC, ETH, DASH even DOGE. HBD is never on the list of options to choose from. Two examples: Bitrefill and Coingate. Both services allow you to buy many different gift cards. As a result, I am able to buy almost anything with crypto. However, neither site accepts HBD or HIVE. So, in order to buy something I always have to swap HBD for HIVE and HIVE for some other token. And I always have to use the intermediary of the exchange. A bit annoying.

Currently, the only place where I can get something for HBD is the Kingdom (@krolestwo). It's a meeting place in Krakow that produces its own drinks and ceramics. It also offers occasional space rental. The current list of available things is published in the daily reports on the @fundacja account.

The kingdom has its own token created thanks to the Hive Engine. It is called RCRT.It is rigidly linked to the HBD. For 1 HBD, you can receive 2 RCRTs.So in practice, instead of RCRT, you can send an HBD. The problem is that everything has to be done manually, because there is no integrated system to automate transfers. A step forward is the Hive QR Code Generator created by Hive Keychain. It allows to speed up many operations. All you have to do is scan the code and accept it. The problem is that the codes generated with it only work on Keychain. The scanner in Ecency is indifferent to them. And the majority of visitors to the Kingdom use this application. At the same time, @ecency does not have any code generator of its own. It would therefore be useful to have one common system to automate transfers. This applies not only to HIVE and HBD, but also to Hive Engine tokens.

In summary, HBD is a great token. There is no other stablecoin so simple that does not require KYC. The great pity is that you can't pay with it directly anywhere. And even if there is such a place, you usually have to do it manually.

EDIT: v4v.app by @brianoflondon solves most problems. I recommend voting for his proposal.

Dwa przykłady: Bitrefill i Coingate. I zawsze musze korzystać z pośrednictwa giełdy.

Jest on sztywno powiązany z HBD. Pozwala on przyspieszyć wiele operacji.

Podsumowując, HBD to świetny token.

Just use v4v.app to swap for Bitcoin LN at the instant.

It is wonderful!

It is very easy to convert HBD to Hive within your Hive Wallet. (Zero Fees)
Send to Ionomy.com convert to Bitcoin (zero fees) and pay with Bitcoin.

Zero fees …

Zero fees? Isn't there still fees when you pay with bitcoin?

I use the Lightning network. Wallet of Satoshi or GetAlby.

Even easier via Binance. Just explain it to people who have had nothing to do with crypto.

Yes…. I have helped a lot of people on Steemit, Hive and Blurt …. Doing it all and sending them cash. People still love their old cash fiat.

Also… Binance has been closed down for a year here in Ontario Canada. The only option we have is Ionomy.com … Nothing else. The doors are closing quickly on Hive, and any other Crypto other than Bitcoin.

There are no problems with Binance in Poland (yet). For me, BinancePay is the most convenient option of all. If Bitrefill or Coingate accepted HBD it would be different...

You will get the best prices between Hive and HBD on the Internal Market on Hive ... right in your Wallet.

Yes I know. Anyway, there is no HBD on Binance, so I always have to exchange for HIVE first.

You can always use hive-engine to trade for Bitcoin, Litecoin, etc. or vice versa.

I could never figure out how to send my Bitcoin from Hive-Engine to Coinbase. Is it easy ? No Fees ?

I usually go in the other direction but I think it's as simple as pressing the "withdraw" button at the top of your wallet in hive engine, choosing which crypto, and entering the amount and the address.

I think hive engine charges a 1% withdraw/deposit fee. I think Tribaldex charges less (0.25% or something).

Ok… I will give it a try. I thought it was some weird wrapped Bitcoin or something like that. It’s actually Bitcoin ?

It's swap.bitcoin in hive-engine but it transfers out as bitcoin without any additional conversion or steps. I guess that's just so it can be an actual 2nd layer token on hive and transferred around that way if you so desire.
