It's been such a long time since I've written one of these pieces and I am feeling the positive Friday vibes today. It's a glorious January day where we live, the sun is shining and it feels quite warm compared to recent days. Yep, I'm British, I like to open up a phone conversation with, "Ooh isn't the weather nice today? What's it like with you today? Oh, that's a shame it's raining over your way!" and so on!
I took a little break from online activities over Christmas and the start of the new year and now I feel rather fired up again about it all. Lots of ideas for the year ahead and the kind of content I want to create.
Cast the pod
Recently I started off a podcast with @cast.garden and the link to mine is https://cast.garden/c/nicklewis please take a look. None of the items I post there come up on this feed though, but the platform is a Hive dApp which supports #podping and RSS 2.0 standards. If you have an existing podcast, you can import it, pretty much as @steevc has done. So thanks to him for making me aware of this new platform and to @kencode for creating it. More on Ken in a moment, as he is one of my recommendations!
I am trying to consolidate my online activities as I do publish to other platforms too, such as Substack. So with more activities shifting over Hivewards, I think in the longer term, I may shift more too, as in away from Web 2.0 technologies entirely. It's a tough call to make. Having fingers in various pies, kind of works right now but not forever.
Hive is on the up
I was pleased to see the Hive price rise upwards the other day, I still have faith in the token. Plans are for the moment, to save HBD, quite literally every day or so, push whatever I've earned, no matter how small, across to the savings pot. On days where the prices drops, I am going to buy some more liquid Hive in order to resume HPUD and/or HPUM challenges. I gave that all a break this month, whilst I oriented myself for the year ahead. Sometimes you just need to park things, in order to approach them with fresh eyes and mind once again later on.
Paying it forward
AS with last year, every person I feature in these posts, which I hope to schedule a little more frequently again, weekly hopefully (famous last words) - will all receive 10% beneficiary awards. I am powering up this post 100%, whereas some posts I keep them at 50/50.
Let's introduce our first person!
@kencode
Ken is a lead developer for the company @agorise who are behind a lot of Hive dApps being developed currently. One of which I was invited to join this week, I mentioned it above and it's called @cast.garden which I've started posting content to. Ken is clearly a strong advocate for the Hive platform and it's growth. Their apps will help you publish podcasts with full #podping support, stream content and a number of other features.
@hotspotitaly
Discovered via this post about Peschiera del Garda https://peakd.com/hive-163772/@hotspotitaly/christmas-in-peschiera-del-garda-a-tour-of-lights-markets-and-underwater-nativity-scenes that is situated on the lake of the same name. I always enjoy stumbling upon travel blogs here on Hive and this one is lovely. I've learnt a lot about hidden corners of Italy, I now want to visit!!
