The News
Crypto fans will still be smiling as Bitcoin knocks on the door of $100k. I have no stake in that, but my $HIVE is looking better this week. It is opening the gap from the 'legacy crapcoin'. There was serious trading before it settled a new, higher level. The InLeo 'lions' will be happy too.
The deranged state of Elon Musk is driving more people away from his platform (whatever it is called) that is making a lot less money since he took over. That includes many celebrities and businesses who do not want to be associated with him. Some are going to Bluesky and Threads (the Meta one) rather than decentralised platforms. Hive really ought to benefit from this situation, but people just do not realise that it is an option. Any Hiver with a decent stake can claim account creation tokens. You can use these to create accounts for your friends with zero cost. Just make sure that they have their keys backed up and instruct them in the basics of Keychain etc.
In amusing news, satirical site The Onion bought Infowars that conspiracy nut Alex Jones has been forced to sell after he defamed families of school shooting victims. It is likely that content of that site will continue to be made up.
Friday Follows
- As well as the Hive rally car there is also a racing motorbike ridden by @king-13 that advertises Hive. He has not posted recently, but check out the bike anyway.
- I need to look more into @propolis.wiki that is building a repository of information about Hive. I am a fan of the wiki concept, but it needs to be decentralised. There is all sorts of information that could be stored on the blockchain to preserve it indefinitely.
- @ph1102 does a weekly audio hang-out on Discord to discuss topics around Hive. I heard a few familiar voices on the latest show.
- I have been created a Drumming community, but only just found out that there is another from @bateristasvzla that is mainly in Spanish as it originates in Venezuela. I see communities as a great way to find others who share your interests. You do not need to follow them all as they may do other posts that will not interest you, but you can check on the community feed at any time.
The Dog House
I noticed some account giving me some tiny votes today. They are downvoting others, but that is nothing to worry about as they do not have much HP. This seems to be related to Hivewatchers and they feel put-upon for getting downvoted. The votes may be related to which proposals you support.
We have seen things like this plenty of times. Another account spams my comments, but I have muted them and I advise you to do the same. What we earn on Hive is down to the whims of the community and HW are part of that, like it or not. Some individuals will also act on what they do not like and they have the freedom to do that. What they cannot do is to stop you posting. You can probably still earn as $HIVE post rewards are not the only way.
The End
Some people may have noticed a lack of running posts from me this week. I hurt my back recently and so am taking it easy. I have been for some walks just recently and seem to be recovering. It was bad timing as my work have a challenge to clock up distance on Strava this month for charity and I will not achieve my goals for that. I gave some money anyway.
I am using @commentrewarder on this post again. Last week's post distributed over 3 $HIVE to commenters and I shall allocate a larger share of the post rewards this time. I can give decent rewards with my vote anyway, but that can run down my voting power. I see other people who delegate away most of their HP to get paid, but if you are posting then you ought to reward those who engage with you and this is a good way to do it. You may get less post rewards, but it may pay off in the long run. It could at least encourage some people to stick with Hive.
Hive five!
