The News
My main news is that I am going to @hivefest. Well I need to get my flight confirmed, but otherwise I am booked up. Be there if you can. I also hit a milestone on @risingstargame by crafting all the available instruments. That has taken quite a while.
The $HIVE price is recovering a little. I could have used some to pay for my trip, but I really want it to go up more before I take any out. I really wonder how the 'legacy coin' maintains any value.
InLeo has a new referral scheme. There are incentives to get people onto Hive and to stick with it.
Rising Star has some artist missions where you can get some special items for your avatar. There are some fun items you can get with their new token that you earn by doing certain other activities

I had some good feedback on my post about musicians joining Hive. Thanks to @giampaolo19, @ugochill, @nonameslefttouse, @stickupboys, @harbiter and @ravenmus1c for their insight. All are worth following (and they get a share of rewards on this post). If you enjoy music then you ought to seek out the quality music that gets posted here and support the artists so that they keep doing it. Even a small vote and a comment is worth something to them. People are getting fed up with other platforms that do not pay them and make it hard to be seen. We cannot all produce valuable content, but we can all support it whilst earning from curation.
@hive-woodpeckers is an interesting project to give opportunities to disadvantaged kids in the UK through learning a craft.

In some cases it can be a matter of opinion who the 'villains' are. I saw this week that a long-term Hivian was getting some downvotes for using 'AI' tools to refine the text on their posts that mostly consist of their own photos. Now they should know that some people here disapprove of such tools, but if a post is mostly original content then it should qualify for rewards. Not everyone is a great writer and may not be using their first language. Others will use tools to generate an image for their post, but in all cases people should declare where these tools were used.
It is likely that the 'AI' will improve and be harder to detect. For now it can be noticeable for being 'too perfect' and being in the 'uncanny valley' of realistic, but it is still early days for the technology. It is up to each of us to decide what to support, but I would prefer that it is real humans that do the creative acts.
The End
How are you 'bearing up' in this market slump? Does it get you down or do you see it as an opportunity? We have to play a long game with Hive, but some of us have been here for many years and feel it should be doing much better by now. We can each play a part in its success and self-interest cannot be the only driving factor.
Hive five!
