You Can Do Anything And Everything

in #hive2 years ago

Hello Hivers,

It's pretty exciting writing my first post here that isn't introduction.

The love I received from my introduction post was overwhelming and I really appreciate it. I sure wasn't expecting that much love ❤.

This post is mostly inspired by the challenges I have faced the past months relating to my journey to becoming a fashion designer.

I've been taking sewing lessons for about 6 months now and it has been quite the experience.

Time and again I have had issue learning some certain patterns, but I got to understand that patience and perseverance is key to overcoming any adversary.

The most recent challenge came when I was learning how to make a collar dress. Making the dress wasn't a problem but adding the collar proved to be quite a tricky task.

I watched the process over and over but I just wasn't getting it right. At some point my trainer lost motivation to instruct me on the same process and that made me feel bad.

Have you ever tried hard to get something right and it doesn't seem to be working?

The feeling is frustrating.
That is where Perseverance comes in

We can only win if we persist and persevere.

I took my time and I tried hard to get it. I would go home and spend alot of time trying the process out on rag dresses. I would get it wrong, I would loose it and I would try again.

Yes!

Eventually I got a full grasp of it!

Someone once said :

If you give up, there's only one certainty: you're never going to achieve or get that thing you want. But if you don't give up, the probability that you'd succeed remains.

Now, making a collar dress feels very normal. Once I unlocked it, I continued on a roll.

I have had similar experience in school in regards to a course I was working on. Everyone seemed to be scared of the course and I couldn't understand it myself.

It was just 3 weeks left to the exam and I became really scared. I was still yet to understand the course and it kept proving difficult.

But just like the collar dress, I overcame.
I gave alot of time to studying the course and even went on to get a B in said course. And that leads me to another point which is : Time

Giving time, putting the hours into things we find challenging always leads to positive results.

Conclusion

I believe we can achieve anything we set out to achieve if we have the right mindset and attitude towards it.

I am sure we all have had similar experiences and we all have conquered some form of adversary.

But if you're in a point in your life where you're having doubts about whatever you're doing or you're losing confidence in your craft. Be it, sewing, crocheting or whatever.

Just remember:
Good things take time

Nothing good in life comes easy and our ability to overcome adversary shows successful we can become.

Yes!

You can do anything and everything.

Thank you for reading!

You're absolutely right! You can achieve anything. It's the mind that matter. Failure is inevitable but our response is always the major thing.

Facts 💯

You can also write about your sewing adventures here. There are communities for that. I see you take good pictures u can use liketu.com to post them.

Thank you dear. I'd certainly try that next time❤️😊

I totally agree, we can do anything if we just set our minds to it. At the end of the day, it will always be You against You.

Welcome to Hive. I've always wanted to learn how to sew using a machine, it would be so amazing to design and upcycle old clothes.

Oh wow. Thanks so much for the warm welcome. You should learn at your leisure. Sewing is really fun, creating something out of nothing❤️🥹

Wow congrats @sweetsoul, Thank you for sharing us your experience.
It's a great encouragement to me!

You're welcome ❤
Thank you too

I can so relate with that collar thingy when I was still a beginner in sewing, was so stressful and will make you feel like giving up, but when you eventually conquer it, the feeling is ecstatic, overall, Patience and hardwork makes it possible, nice writeup by the way.

Thank you so much dear. One thing I know is never to give up cause if you do, you’d remain on the losing end.
