Hello friends, it’s a wonderful new month again, the month of love. On Tuesday and Wednesday, my mates and I had our final project defense and exhibition as students in Industrial Design Department of FUTA. It has been an occasion long awaited as it was our last task as an undergraduate, was accessed by an external supervisor.
We were given stands to exhibit some of the assignment and personal works we had done in the past, on Monday we brought our works and mounted them for exhibition. During this act, some of us had issues with the double sided tape as it wasn’t strong enough to hold the exhibits and they were falling off. I and a close friend of mine had too fine alternatives by bringing in plywood and mounting our exhibits on it with a tag pin. On Tuesday, we had an internal defense where we explained our Projects to our lecturers, telling them the problem it solves and how they are to be used.
On Wednesday, We had to wait for the external supervisor who we were told was coming from a neighboring state, it took a while to before he came so I decided to use the opportunity to make a scribble sketch of a picture I saw on Paintrest. Main technique of shading is hatching, but I decided to use the scribble technique because I really love it and I wanted to learn.
Later in the day the supervisor came around and we were all asked to go outside, I rushed to drop the uncompleted artwork on my stand and went outside with the others. It took a while, the lecturers and supervisor went round from stands to stands awarding marks. After everything they came outside, gave a few announcements, took a few pictures with us and left. We all were happy, congratulated ourselves and took pictures knowing that most of us might not get the chance to meet again.
We were not given the chance to take our works out, it was announced that the Vice chancellor wants to look around before we can take out our exhibits.
