HivePUD May-2022, plus monthly account stats

(html comment removed: @format )

My submission for #HivePUD for 1-May-2022, and my first ever Power-Up Helper ( #HivePUH ) attempt.

HivePUD May-2022.

Powering up at least $ʜɪᴠᴇ10.00 as HP.

This is just a quick post from me this month, without my usual monthly account stats. I'm getting ready for a busy month, as I will be upgrading all of my tech during May 2022, including rolling out the latest GNU/Linux operating systems on my existing laptops, and buying myself a new Android phone and setting it up. Hence I don't really have much spare time for this post today, but I wanted to get something out there, as it has been a while since I last posted on the HIVE social blockchain, anyway.

So, today I have powered up $ʜɪᴠᴇ27.430 as Hive Power (ʜᴩ). This is the most that I have ever powered up at one time. In the past I have powered up around $ʜɪᴠᴇ10.00 to $ʜɪᴠᴇ15.00 maximum. This is the fourth time that I have completed a Power Up Day, but only the third time that I have posted about it. I missed out on posting about it last month, unfortunately, so I was determined to make sure that I posted this month.

Acknowledging where this $ʜɪᴠᴇ came from.

I am still in the process of powering down my legacy account. I think this will be the last of it now, as there is only about $ʜɪᴠᴇ6.00 left there now, and I'll leave the final $ʜɪᴠᴇ5.00 in there anyway, just to keep the account ticking over. So that is the end of the "easy money" for me now. From now on, I am going to be reliant on the creation/curation rewards; my passive income from Splinterlands; and any gifts, donations, or competition prizes that I might win, in order to raise enough liquid $ʜɪᴠᴇ to be able to power up again in June. What a time to be taking a hiatus while I upgrade my computers!

HivePUH May 2022.

Powering up $ʜɪᴠᴇ10.00 to someone else.

As you can see from the image above, not only did I power up $ʜɪᴠᴇ27.430 to myself this month, but I also powered up a further $ʜɪᴠᴇ10.00 to Armando Galarza ( @acgalarza ) for my first ever attempt at a Power Up Helper ( #HivePUH ) badge. I chose to power-up to Armando because I foresee myself making extensive use of his services online. He is promoting himself here on the HIVE social blockchain as an experienced "Goal Attainment Coach", or "Personal Development Coach". If there is one thing that I need right now in my life, it is some direction from a life-coach. Armando's arrival here on the social blockchain is very fortuitous for me!

In other news.

I'm taking up a new sport!

I really am not a very sports-minded person. I come from a sports-mad country (🇳🇿 Aotearoa / New Zealand), and I went to one of the most well-known rugby-loving high schools (Kelston Boys High School) that regularly turn out legendary sportsmen like Inga the Winger. But I've never been into sports myself. Now though, I am older and greyer, and my health has deteriorated from this sedentary lifestyle I have led. To help combat the encroaching debilitation, I am at last taking up a sport.

I am learning about the new sport of Disc Golf, which is kind of like a cross between traditional golf, and beach frisbee throwing. Unlike beach frisbee, or even "ultimate frisbee", this sport is more about hitting a target with a disc, rather than playing throw and catch. That is good, because my poor hand-eye coordination would leave me incapable of progressing far in a sport if I had to catch something, haha. Aiming, throwing, and hitting a target seems a lot more within my capabilities. I'm still doing the whole autistic research bit for now, and haven't even thrown my first disc yet, but I am learning as much as I can about the sport before I begin. While it will be both relaxing for my mental health and energetic enough to assist with my cardiovascular and diabetes conditions; it could also open up further, more competitive avenues if I pursue this far enough. I could become a professional sportsperson one day! Wow, the High School days version of "me" back then, would have been terrified of the "me" from now, hahaha. All sports people are bullies, right? That was the main lesson that I learnt back-in-the-day.

I remember this was something you planned since last PUD (powering up to someone too, and get the Helper badge).

Congrats on achieving your goals matey, on to the next goal of sending me 100 Hive next month! 😜

Yes, I am glad to finally get this one sorted ... I hope I have, anyway. I haven't seen any notification about it yet, and I don't have the badge in HiveBuzz yet, either. Maybe it is given manually at the end of Power Up Day? 🤞

I think the bot gets congested with that many badges, or RC bottle necked for commenting. It will come eventually, don't worry about it.

It's cool that you joined the PUD anyway! Good luck setting up your gadgets, I know how time-consuming it is))

Thanks for that. I look forward to playing with setting up my new smartphone. I am getting a Realme 9i, which is something different from my usual choice of Samsung devices.

Ah, yes, I know it's a mobile, had a friend, the reviews are good as I remember. Congratulations on the update!

Congrats @frittro on your biggest power up till date. Also a huge congratulations for helping @acgalarza to get to his first power up.

And like always, love the formatting. 💙

!PIZZA

Thanks @pravesh0, I am really pleased with how my power-down from my legacy account has progressed, which has led to this great #HivePUD this month ... plus enough to spare to do a hivepuh_18px.png #HivePUH as well! I see that I also have $ʙʟᴜʀᴛ39.447 from legacy as well, but the conversion rate isn't very good for blurt_18px.png BLURT still. I might just leave that where it is for now, and see what happens to it. I don't use my BLURT account, and have never posted on there.

Well done and on to next month you are doing great

Thanks for this, Britt.

Well it’s true and I see that you like the platform maybe even more than before on the othe chain.
I had to wait to vote for when I have WiFi again so here I am

I really do! Yes, I see a lot of potential here. I can be a bit like a kid at the fairground though ... "Ooh, look at this! Look, it's got this! Oh wow, check this out!" So much to see, so much to try out, that I never actually get anything done, hahahaha.

😅 I loved your post @frittro, it is also excellent publicity for @acgalarza, I think there are many of us who need a coach of this type. Very interesting how you have enriched this post with part of your life, it is excellent, the way you talk about yourself was very funny. It shows that you are a fresh and jovial person despite the fact that as you say you are already grayer hahaha. I hope to know more about your progress in this new sport. And I must also tell you that I am learning that such a thing exists.

Thanks for such a nice reply, @marbrym. Yes, I hope that, in some small way, my mentioning @acgalarza in this post can also contribute to his success here on the chain.

It shows that you are a fresh and jovial person despite the fact that as you say you are already grayer hahaha.

Thank you so much for this compliment! Most people that I know of IRL would disagree with your assessment of me, preferring to refer to me as "that grumpy old man", hahaha. Personally, I like to think that the perception I give of myself here online is more "the real me" though, and my IRL existence is just a shadow of who I really am.

I hope to know more about your progress in this new sport. And I must also tell you that I am learning that such a thing exists.

I shall definitely be posting more about my progress in Disc Golf. I wonder what I should call the blog series about it though? Something like "A geek's guide to getting into a sport"? Or maybe "From computer nerd to sports jock, the easy way"? Haha.

I am going to be watching a lot of YouTube videos about Disc Golf at first, so that I get a basic understanding of how the game is played, and learning about the different skills that I will need to perfect. I am also constructing my own, portable Disc Golf basket to use for practising with.

I agree with you that for many, these media allow us to express our true selves, while others hide it to try to deceive. But it doesn't matter, sometimes we have several real selves, depending on the environment and that's fine too. Yes, it is good that you record the step by step of your history with Disc Golf, it will be very interesting. Even down to the craft part of building your own basket. It's always good to get out of our comfort zone, even that is gymnastics for our brain to get out of the rut hahaha. You are a very interesting person. By the way what is IRL?

...sometimes we have several real selves, depending on the environment and that's fine too.

Being autistic, I find that I can be more "real" in my online relationships than the so called "in real life" (IRL) ones. Except for with my wife, that is. She understands me, autism and all.

Yes, it is good that you record the step by step of your history with Disc Golf,...

Indeed! In fact, I have just made my very first tangible step towards getting into Disc Golf. Look what I have just bought today!

20220503_135803.png

I was only going to buy the starter set today, but I really was hoping that the Ruru disc would come with that set. Unfortunately it didn't, and all of the assorted sets available in the store included the Tui disc instead of the Ruru. So I bought the Ruru separately. Now I'll be able to compare first-hand the difference between the Ruru and the Tui, which are both putters.

Well, in your comment there is a lot of interesting information. Just recently I made a post about a new discovery I had and it is a disorder that couples of people who are within the autistic spectrum usually suffer from. I leave the link if you want to take a look(https://peakd.com/hive-102879/@marbrym/empatia-y-el-trastorno-deprivacion-afectiva-de-casandra-cadd-esoren-empathy-and-casandras-affective-deprivation-disorder). That information seemed too incredible to me and it shows that when the person who suffers from it is diagnosed and accepts it, it is the guarantee that the relationship can last, because there are many people who have not been diagnosed in their adulthood. Excellent job you have done, but especially your wife.

On the other hand, I already see that Disc Golf is another world, different discs and everything. Hey, but I was briefly looking for both albums and they seem the same to me but with a different label, is that right?

That is so cool! I need to update my standard post footer message now with the latest badges. Awesome stuff!

Thank you for participating in the PUD @diabetes-support. 💪🐝

Hi @frittro ! First of all, congratulations on the achievement of your very first #HivePUH ) badge!

I do appreciate the power-up $ʜɪᴠᴇ10.00 you gave me this month! I'm new in the Hive community and your gesture as well as the awesome welcoming I've got from The Terminal has made my arrival very smooth! In that sense, my arrival here on the social blockchain is very fortuitous for me as well!

My intention is to give something of value through my writing and videos in regard to Personal Development and your encouragement helps me to improve and to keep on producing content and helping people. Thanks!

By the way, Dico-Golf is very popular here in Germany. I think you will have a lot of fun.

Best regards!

Thanks for the reply, Armando, and welcome to the HIVE social blockchain! I am sure that you will do very well here. You seem to have a great wealth of knowledge to share with us all, and I look forward to reading more of your inspirational posts.

Maybe one day when I am on the "pro tour" circuit, and regularly earning thousands of dollars in prizewinnings from competitive Disc Golf, I will be able to come by and visit you there in 🇩🇪 Germany, haha. It is good to have dreams, aspirations, and goals in life, right? 😜

Congratulations @frittro! You received a personal badge!

You powered-up at least 10 HIVE on Hive Power Up Day!
Wait until the end of Power Up Day to find out the size of your Power-Bee.

Hello frittRo I was wondering how you are doing. May was the last blog. I wish you and your wife well

Whoever is directly controlling the V2K told me to kill myself.
They told me if I killed myself now it would save the lives of countless others.
Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.

They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.

https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?

Thanks for powering up! It's always nice to hit these little milestones like powering up the most you have thus far, so congrats on that! Keep stacking and earning the rewards but don't forget about the Hive side of it! I know Splinterlands is a wonderful experience but the base layer here is also equally, if not more important to maintain and try to keep a presence on. It's certainly a lot to manage but with some balance I think you should be able to do it!

Just don't hurt your shoulders or elbows playing frisbee golf :D you'll be good! The sport looks like a lot of fun, I wouldn't mind trying it one day.

Haha, I'm still in the "honeymoon phase" since returning to the social blockchain after a three year hiatus. There is so much to see, so much to do! I would love to devote more time to playing Splinterlands, but I haven't even played one match since I came back. Sure, I mess with my card collection a bit, and I like to experiment with the Splinterlands API, as I did back in 2018, but I know that I don't as yet have time to devote to it. There are a whole heap of other things on the social blockchain that I need to be focusing on more than games at present. I actually returned here to start blogging about my new #homelab that I intend to set up, running Nextcloud under YunoHost, on a Raspberry Pi single board computer (SBC). But since I returned to the social blockchain, I have not progressed very far at all with that, even.

My blog is going to split into multiple streams, or facets. I still need to "pull-finger" and get on with my #homelab setup. Then there is the #discgolf sport that I am getting into. I am also going to be blogging a lot more about #diabetes; both from this my personal account, and from the new Hive Diabetes Peer Support curation account on @diabetes-support. I also intend to start blogging more about autism as well, and maybe even about depression and mental health issues; all of which I have "lived experience" of.

The sport looks like a lot of fun, I wouldn't mind trying it one day.

Yes, it really does look like a lot of fun, and something that I can get into easily at my level of experience; fitness; and financial status! I have just organised with my Community Support Worker (CSW) to meet up with him for my first throw of the Disc Golf discs next Thursday afternoon, and with an ongoing weekly Disc Golf session with him at the same each week. My wife is also keen to come along to those sessions and support me, and even to have a throw, herself.
