So, HIVE is like a 1st blockchain level.. then there can be other levels bellow it (called side-chains), these implement other features and for your understanding, things like games, such as dcity or risingstargame amount others... check my post if you are interested...

On HIVE you have liquid HIVE (hive you can move around without any delay) and staked HIVE (hive that takes 13 weeks to unstake, aka move to liquid). When broadcasting (communicating) on HIVE you need something called resource credits (RC). These will be regenerated over time to the max of HIVE you have powered up on your account (staked HIVE).

On Hive-Engine (2nd level of blockchain of HIVE) you have the same sort of "principles". And most of the tokens, like !LOL or !PIZZA or even !BEER or !WINE, have bots that are distributing those respective tokens to whomever uses those commands initiated with the explanation pontuation. But you will need to abide to some of the rules of each of those tokens. Those can be the same or not... mostly they will required you to stake (lock) tokens for a certain amount of time (just like HIVE) in your account in order to to be able to use those commands. Some don't require you to stake the tokens... some others do...
