Hello everyone, today I'm very happy to share a very memorable experience of this artistic journey. Today I want to share my very first painting on the wall.
Not this one, this is the wall before the painting. I mentioned in the previous post that my college was organising a fest (JINKS) so I talked with my seniors about wall painting and took permission from the director to paint this wall for JINKS. Two of my juniors were also interested in this and one of them only gave me the design.
we even got the deadline to paint the wall, i.e 3 days with classes still on.
So on the first day, we only had enamel paint which is used regularly in painting walls. First, we painted the wall with grey enamel paint in the evening, which took us about half an hour only but it took the whole night to dry.
The next day I had my classes from 9 to 12 noon, and after that, we went to draw the outlines.
Drawing the outline with some improvisation, from 1 to 2:30 we made the outlines and labelled which colours will go where. after that took lunch and went to attend the lab at 3. Then from 5 in the evening we again went to colour the outline but the design had many sharp points and also there were so many different colours that we needed which were not possible from enamel paint also, With enamel paint, it's very hard to control and also the time it takes to dry.
We then tried applying some acrylic colours, acrylic was easy to put on the wall, easy to remove, easy to mix and less messy. So we asked the seniors if we could exchange enamel paint for acrylic colour.
And we got it 😃.
Now that we have the colours let's paint. We painted till 9:30.
Had our dinner then again we came back at 11 in the night and painted the wall at night while listening to songs besides the road which we never saw so quietly. There was no one just four of us and 2 guards. We worked till 2:30 because we again had classes from 9 in the morning.
Us working at 2 at night.
The next day started in the evening but one of my teammates was involved in some other work so we had to work without him.
We did get some volunteers though who couldn't refrain from putting up acrylic colours on the wall, I mean it's just so appealing to be able to colour a wall that to your college wall.
We completed the work at around 2 in the night.
The final result is So JINKS is the name of the fest, Pranav is an ex-student of NIFFT who passed away a few years back. In his memory, the fest is now called JINKS Pranav. and down at the bottom, we made monuments or famous places of Jharkhand. Also, we changed the background to a darker shade so that colours look bright.
These will be my favourite memories of college, couldn't wait to paint next year.
Giving the final touch, down at the right we wrote our names so that no one else takes credit for it 😤.
My tip to anyone who wants to paint a wall. paint with acrylic colours and a flat brush. and most important enjoy it to the fullest because once it's completed it'll create a void in your heart 😄.
