The 19th prompt for #inktober is "ridge." So, I thought about drawing a ridge backed dragon flying over a mountain ridge.
Since this is a moral dragon with a strong work ethic, I thought the picture should show the dragon bringing a snack back to the young ones in the lair. I decided to etch out the dragon in ink as you see at the top of the page.
I drew this picture from imagination. While drawing the picture I realized several things. I don't know what dragon heads look like. I don't know how dragon wings attaches to dragons. I don't know how dragon tails work.
I then added some shading to the dragon.
I quickly framed the picture with a mountain valley.
I ended up with a interesting problem. The drawing sitting on my desk looks okay. The photograph looks extremely dirty. It might have something to do with the lighting. I am scared that the photo element might be aging.
The primary reason that I drew this picture was that I was hoping to enhance the image with Night Cafe. This final picture shows the enhancement:
I think the enhanced image would look nicer if the photo of my drawing was cleaner.
I will try retaking the picture in full sun tomorrow. I feel sad that the pictures I took looked so lousy.
