Are there rules for this posting under @silverd510's initiative?
Not a lot, but if you would like to get your wishlist out there here's the Link. This sort of works in conjunction with the Secret Santa initiative if you want to participate this far into the #silvergoldstacker's annual tradition.
“Black birds tend to like shiny things.” ~ The Bloody Raven
I decided to take a different tack this year. Those familiar with the Bloody Raven's style of Collecting apart, from Ravenhill's Stacking, that is two different personalities. A sort of Jekyll and Hyde thing. For this year, a simpler, sensible, and more practical choices without precipitating a heart attack upon my Secret Santa's wallet.
The Silver Round.
IN OMNIA PARATUS, “Prepared, or ready in all things.”
I thought it was a great ideal as Scottsdale gave one of it’s latest generic round a bit of a pirate coin flare when the Original ‘In Omnia Paratus’ was added to their product line.
The inference was perhaps too subtle for most Stackers and collectors at a glance. The variant Jerusalem Cross featured here in slightly different forms is the primary characteristic that barely harken to the rugged hammered silver Cobs if a modern day pirate knew what to look for. Otherwise, it could be mistaken as a Prepper or Boy Scout’s silver round then we would categorize it as a run-of-the-mill generic.
I think that was why the Type 2 came into the game. The addition of Castles and Lions “Castile and Leone” made all the difference, The choice in using the Fleury cross is more commonly seen in Portuguese silver coinage in the mid16th century. A mash up of recognizable Portuguese and Spanish symbols that makes this work for a modern day equivalent to pirate Reale, in a subtle way.
Now this is what I would consider loading up on a few of these to bolster my Pirate treasure cache. However, no retailer has ordered this from over the border yet. With the closing of 2024 I may never see them up here in British Columbia’s rocky shores. We do have a history of Spanish influence here in the past as many of the local geological landmarks have Spanish names thanks to Spanish Captain Juan Perez of the Santiago in 1774.
And Scottsdale's background story behind this silver round?
Cob coins, these weathered gems of an age gone by, were crafted amid the chaotic dance of the high seas. Hammered by hand from chunks of precious metal, their rough edges and uneven shapes bore witness to a minting process that knew no rest. Struck in the dead of night, on board swaying vessels, cob coins emerged as tangible symbols of piracy's golden era. Embellished with curious designs like crosses, castles, and lion crests, they carried both currency and camaraderie. Accepted by merchants, pirates, and privateers alike, these coins were the lifeblood of trade in a world that often answered only to the code of the Jolly Roger...
There we go, a tribute to the Hammered Spanish 8 Reales Cob.
I hope my Secret Santa can consider this silver round and Scottsdale minted plenty of these at fair premium worthy of plundering for paper fiat. ☠️

Physical precious metals bullion stacking is only a part of my personal overall financial strategy. Numismatics has a different set of objectives than Stacking. Please, do your research before deciding to buy any bullion products.
