The Canadian Postal system is barely functioning as they were ordered to resume delivery operations back around a week before Christmas. It’s running slow so most my late bills arrived ‘past due’.

I’d prefer to have paper bills but considering the punishing interest charges through no fault of my own I am now coerced into going full digital.
@dwingsworld and I touch base on Instagram periodically and a former member of #silvergoldstackers in its earlier days. He may stop by on Hive one day but for now he simply doesn’t have the time to invest in our cozy little Stacker community on Hive. @Silversaver888, @stokjockey and I are what remains of a YouTube Stacking community that have migrated over several years ago.

There were fun 'pre-HIve' memories writing up fictional pirate stories around the Captain K adventures.
He is seldom on Discord but I left a trail of news articles on discoveries and stories of lost treasures as I come by them on my stacking journey. Considering the rapid development of drone and geo-mapping technology I believe that most of the treasures lost at sea will eventually be recovered.
Back to the matter at hand, Christmas is slowly catching up mail-wise. And the first #SGS mail is from our old friend @dwingsworld.
What did he send me?

Other than the cheery Christmas card is another silver Roosevelt dime, this time a 1964. The previous one is a 1962 dime in a previous Christmas. A reminder of our fun times both on YouTube and our early Hive days when our SGS community was much more busy and buzzing with excitement.

Sweet! Thank you and a belated Merry Christmas @dwingsworld 🎄🎁💋
What’s happening lately, or not.

I found this sad little Christmas succulent at my local garden nursery disguised as a Hardware store priced on a generous discount. I used to have a large red bloom variety but it got lost somewhere in my last move prior to my current permanent residence. This plant has pink blooms according to the tag and she perked up considerably after a much needed watering.
I’m hoping for wonderful blooms by next Christmas.

This cute young tabby started visiting me just before summer as I was doing my usual gardening and yard work. He felt that we both needed some mutual love and attention therapy and kept visiting almost daily since. “Your Mommy’s not home again to give you attention.” He knows I’m a cat person.

According to my Mom’s ‘Last Will and Testament’, I am a share owner of her condominium split evenly between my siblings. We decided to renovate the place with new flooring and a fresh coat of paint to give my sister a fresh start living here. This is a symbolic change for us as siblings, to put our old issues aside and start fresh, to depend on one another should things go bad, and be closer together than ever before.
This project is turning out more difficult than planned when we started in the first week of December but stalled off and on through January with meager progress. The condominium needed much more than renovations, it needed a huge clean up effort from the years of neglect.

I haven’t been writing much.
And hope that It is temporary.
I can only focus for short times yet long enough to write a comment. So if Parkinson’s isn’t enough of a writing issue another one comes up. Never the less I’ll have to roll with punches.
What I can do is simply live life as it comes.
In fact I’m finding it enjoyable. I am relishing the role as a stay at home parent after being the sole bread winner all these years. Making full home cooked meals, baking treats when I have the energy, house-keeping, gardening and most of all being there when my adult sons need me, or when I need them.
Tasks like sewing requires too much fine motor skills, skills that I can no longer have.
It appears that my health has deteriorated such that I will not be able to return to work forcing me to retire well before my planned retirement date. Before the Covid pandemic I felt I could still put in another 10 to 15 years easy. Now that is not possible.
I’m currently working out the numbers and made plans to convert my self directed Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) similar to the American IRA, into an Registered Retirement Fund (RRIF). Canada Pension plan will be switched over. Submit my application to my secondary Pension Fund to convert my account to Single Life payments starting in the fall.
The numbers look decent for me so far, the question is the inflation factor. We all know it’s NOT 2.5%.
I don’t want to spend my valuable free time at some Box Store wearing some ugly blue vest. Maybe I’ll deliver the odd pizza thing, 🍕

I know plenty of us would love to retire on a huge Crypto score but think about it, If you had to retire earlier than expected what would you choose to do?
See you at my next post. "My Secret Santa package arrives."
There’s a wise old Confucius-ish styled saying, “Find a job you love, and never have to work a day in your life.” 🎑

Physical precious metals bullion stacking is only a part of my personal overall financial strategy. Meanwhile, collecting numismatics are a different set of objectives and strategy. Unless you are a complete nutcase as I am please, do your research before deciding to buy into any bullion or numismatic products.
