What a difference a single month make! We (the crypto community) went from being ostracized to now be one of the community politicians try the hardest to please.
First, a lot of democrats changed their mind on the latest vote aimed to legitimize cryptocurrencies and now Trump which has always be quite indiferrent to cryptocurrencies but ultimately liked the "freedom" ideals embedded in its applications suddently became openly pro-crypto!
His latest comments even indicate that he will actively promote cryptoccurenceis and make sure its supporters are not persecuted by the government!
“If you vote for me, on Day 1, I will commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht to a sentence of time served,” Trump said during his Saturday night remarks at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C. “He’s already served 11 years, we’re gonna get him home.”
As a reminder:
In 2015, Ulbricht was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences plus 40 years – effectively, life in prison without the possibility of parole – for creating and operating Silk Road.
Following this, I believe Democrats will have to do a 360 degrees policy change and become less adversarial to Crypto users or expect crypto users to massively vote for the GOP.
What a time to be alive!
