It was both strange and wonderful to get ready in a place that was not my own bedroom! This time I had access to a lovely little vanity mirror - I definitely want to get one of these - and I was able to take my time.
I also had plenty of good lighting and the gentle sound of the ocean right outside my window helped calm my pre-gig jitters.
The vanity mirror definitely helped me with my eye makeup, most specifically with the liquid liner, which is usually a nightmare to put on. I also managed to get a far more symmetrical balance than I do at home.
Eye makeup is so important, especially for stage, as your lipstick can wear off, but if your eyes look stunning, you can still get away with it.
I decided not to curl my hair this time and just blow-dried and flat-ironed it. It was incredibly windy and I did not want to be fussing with curls.
I picked my most comfortable gig dress, which is classic, flattering, and versatile. This time I even ditched the fat-squishing underwear as comfort was definitely the order of the day.
I am definitely becoming more and more efficient with my make-up. I think I need to go and buy some new eye shadow pallets and a new concealer. Luckily, I only put makeup on like this when we gig, so it lasts me a really long time.
@zakludick kept me company and helped me pick out colours and dresses. I decided to go with different shades of sliver. Normally I'll add a splash of colour if I have a funky coloured hat, hair dye or if I am wearing colourful jewelry. The different layers of silver looked great though!
