A Look At SPK Miner Token LARYNX | Data on accounts claiming, locked tokens and top holders

in #larynx2 years ago

The LARYNX tokens have been available for Hivers to claim it since March 2022. It is distributed to Hive holders via 12 months airdrop. Each month users can claim it.

Starting from August a small amount of SPK tokens started to be distributed to account that powered it up or locked as node operators. This has increased the overall participation in the network from users.

The more techy users can run a node for the claim node where the data is stored for the token. Node runners need locked LARYNX to be in the top validators for the transactions and earn fees in for of the LARYNX token.
The ones who don’t run nodes can delegate their tokens to node operators and start earning small amount of the main governance token SPK. The way it works is that both, the delegators and node operators earn a small amount of SPK.
A note that the SPK rewards at this stage are small. Don’t except to earn a lot when delegating the LARYNX tokens. I’m personally running a claim node and you can delegate LARYNX to me or some of the other node operators on the link https://vue.dlux.io/me#wallet/.

With this said let’s take a look at some LARYNX data.
We will be looking at:

  • Number of accounts claiming LARYNX per day
  • Number of accounts claiming LARYNX per month
  • Daily locked LARYNX tokens
  • Cumulative locked LARYNX
  • Top accounts that locked LARYNX

The period that we will be looking at is from March to November 2022.

Number Of Accounts Claiming LARYNX Per Day

Here is the chart.

image001.png

We can notice that the usually at the start of the month there is a spike in the number of accounts claiming. This is due to the fact that users can claim once per month, and as we can see a lot of them are doing it at the first of the month.
When the claiming become available first in March 2022, there was more than 1200 accounts that claimed on the first day and approximately the same amount on the second day. Since then we can see a downtrend for the first of each month up until August. Since August there is an uptrend in the numbers of accounts claiming.

On a monthly basis the chart looks like this.

image003.png

This chart shows a clearer picture. A record high in March, then a drop until August and a growth in the last two months.
October has seen a record high number in accounts claiming, with almost 4.5k accounts claiming the token.

A total of 9.1k accounts have claimed LARYNX token.

I was not able to get data of the claimed tokens per day/month, but until today there is a total of 52M claimed tokens for a period of eight months. This is an average of 6.8M LARYNX tokens claimed monthly, and if we extrapolate for one year, that would be around 80M projection for total claimed LARYNX.
If we take in consideration that the available supply of HIVE was around 370M at the moment of snapshot in January 2022, this will be around 22% claimed tokens share. Its quite a low percentage that will leave a lot of unclaimed tokens that the community will later need to decided how to distribute or burn some of them.

Daily Locked LARYNX Tokens For Governance

Here is the chart for daily locked LARYNX.

image005.png

The chart includes both powered up and locked LARYNX. The accounts that are running a node can lock the token (white) and the accounts that are not running nodes are powering up (orange) and then delegating to node operators.

We can see that there is a huge spike in the amount of tokens powered up in August when the option became available. The amount of powered up tokens is now surpassing the amount of locked tokens by node operators, as there is more users who are powering up and delegating.

Cumulative Powered/Locked LARYNX For Governance

Here is the chart.

image007.png

More than 18M LARYNX is powered/locked for governance.
This represents a 35% share from the total of 51M claimed tokens.
We can clearly see the uptrend starting from August when the option to power up was introduced and small rewards in SPK as incentives.

Top Accounts That Powered/Locked LARYNX

Here are the top accounts that powered/locked LARYNX.

image009.png

Quite nice distribution :).
The @thecallmedan dedicated account for LARYNX @tcmd-spkcc is on the top with more than 1M tokens followed very closely by @blocktrades. Next is @encrypt3dbr0k3r who is also above 1M, but is not running a node and is delegating to node operators.

As we can see from the above the number of accounts claiming LARYNX has been significant with 3k to 4k accounts claiming monthly and cumulative 9k accounts. The more owners the token has the better the distribution and the overall tokenomics. On the other hand, the amount of tokens claimed from the available is relatively low with 22% share atm. This means that there are whale accounts that are not into LARYNX and not claiming the token. The exchange accounts are expected to leave behind some tokens, but there are other large accounts that are not claiming.

Starting from August the amount of powered up LARYNX has increased significantly with the SPK rewards going live. The top holders have around 1M tokens powered/locked. The overall distribution seem quite nice at the moment and its reaching almost 10k accounts.
Small first steps for the SPK ecosystem but slowly it is taking shape. The task that system is trying to solve is one of the biggest challenges for decentralized online content.

All the best

very nice and informative - as always! ❤️

Thank you!

I wish Dan airdrop these "unclaimed" token to those who claimed.

Hmm 🤔 that would be stupid. Changing the AirDrop rules after the AirDrop has started is a NoNoGo

Whale hallo

bad day

I think that the large number of accounts related to Larynx should be controlled with a purposeful project rather than free airdrops

Who's decision is it what has 'purpose'?

The DHF is funding the development and therefore the best recipients of the tokens are Hive holders. After the airdrop period all tokens will lose value weight through a metric similar to that described in the white paper... switching to a "project" from an airdrop.

-- Edit: I want to clarify that this metric is like the number of slices(weight/stake) of a pizza, and not the size(value) of the pizza.

Any chance you could check the amount of SPK in existence and holdings?

Hmmm ... that would be interesting ... havent looked how exaclty are they issued, what tx etc... will try to have a look

I can't believe that some of these accounts aren't claiming their tokens.

The exchanges are the biggest players that are not claiming, but there are some others big players as well.

Overall a good reach with 10k accounts already claimed some.

It's probably a good thing that exchanges aren't claiming. Seeing regular stakeholders fail to claim is just so painful to witness.

I can

Amazing infographics as always and great to see Speak Network under the spotlight. While the developers do their work, is within the community's duty to spread the word and build trust around it organically. And this is a great example of that!

🍕 PIZZA !
@dalz! The Hive.Pizza team manually upvoted your post.

Please vote for pizza.witness!

The amount of powered up is very interesting just with this period

Such these airdrops are important and should not be lost or forgotten when claiming them.

@theycallmedan is anyone translating the Speak posts to Chinese and Korean?

True

We would propose that of the unclaimed tokens. The vast majority is burned, leaving a larynx DAO account of about 20% of the supply that the community can vote to distribute to attract other projects and infrastructure operators to join in and gain some ownership in the ecosystem in exchange for running important web3 infrastructure!

But of course, this is decentralization, and it’s just our proposal. Ultimately the voters and SPK governance token holders will decide with a decentralized token one, vote structure!

Node operators are currently able to signal how much of the remaining unclaimed token supply should be put in a dao. To see who is signaling what see the link below. If they are not signaling anything and you are delegating your larynx to them, you may want to ask them to clarify the following:

https://hiveuprss.github.io/spkccmonitor/

Looking forwards to more excellent distribution from the community. This a shining example of how to do it properly while this crypto shit show is currently going on outside of the Hive and SPK Network ecosystems.

I would say DAO is good, but tokens should not be given away randomly for "infrastructure" people. Simple because it can turn off from one day to another. So it needs trust first for new people, like hive dao over time.

Or some delegation support. I mean to get it sustainable and not make people rely on DAO.

So lets say we end up with 80M tokens claimed. The idea is to have 20% on top of those in a dao? So 80M to holders and another 16M in a dao?

If this is the idea it sounds very reasanable.

After the airdrop, will more LARYNX tokens be auctioned off daily by the SIP as described in the light paper? What will that amount be based on? My concern is if the SIP auctions off so many that it quickly dilutes the ~80 million (or however many) LARYNX that are claimed in the airdrop. Maybe it would make more sense to take a snapshot of the LARYNX balances at the end of the airdrop and then airdrop most of the unclaimed tokens proportionally. Just an idea.

I've been accumulating some LARYNX and plan to get more involved in SPK. I'm excited about the potential of this project!

I'd prefer to drop all the unclaimed token into the DAO, but I've compromised to signal 50% of them. Makes no sense to me to burn any.

We have Snapshots and arguments can be made for late 'claims' after full launch. That would driver further adoption. Doh, those should not be a one time claim all - but rather also 12Month with individual starting dates, best case even staked. Thereby decreasing the 'drop all and forget about the project' probability significantly. Those Tokens would have to be payed out be the DOA of course, probably held up by a supported proposal.

Having some LARYNX left in the DAO could also come in very handy. But there are many ways to make that happen. Taking two digits % of all unclaimed token might be an overkill. If the court of public opinion identifies that as a risk, it might hinder investments.

Good that we vote on that, the obvious solution is for everyone to claim their tokens and that will NOT happen.
