Sunday fun day?
Oh hell, yeah!
I had some leg work around mid-day. Feeling stuffy and a little bored, I left my sleepyhead lil guy in the bedroom and went outside for a quick look around. After spending some time in the front yard, pulling some weeds off my growing plants, my feet led me to the east side and ascended toward the hilly side of the property.
This was where I found some teeny weeny mushroom last month but they are already gone as I didn't see any trace of them today.

Some minutes later I was taking photos of things along the way. Blackjacks, cockspur grass, wildflowers, and such. While I often see them when going up there, I am still fascinated each time.

The neighborhood is utterly quiet. It felt like no one was around. The kids who usually play along the street below our lil abode are no more. And unlike on the previous weekends, we no longer hear people playing basketball in the nearby school gym. Most may have gone to the city to watch the Flower Festival parades. We were to go but my gum was still sore and my face was swollen so maybe next time (although we will have to wait until next year since it is an annual festivity.
Anyhow, this was my view while up there. I was trying to capture a silhouette of the mountain in the distance but somehow, my phone could not take a better shot.

Walking a little farther, I found more wild things (Huckleberries, Mysore Raspberries, etc). I couldn't resist photographing them.

Then the thunder roared, warning me of an incoming rain. So I traced my steps back to the house. I spent some minutes in the driveway thinking about washing the car when the raindrops started. Okay, pour hard then to clean the mud, I mumbled and went in.
The Lil Guy was still on the floor, half awake. He didn't even budge when I entered.

I'm rather chuffed that he didn't howl when I was leaving. He probably knew I was coming back soon. Well, it rained the whole afternoon so we spent most of it under the sheet. I was just glad I had gone out and given my legs some workout. They certainly needed stretching.
