A recent survey has suggested that around 8% of people who are currently living in San Fran and Seattle are planning to pick up and move elsewhere to greener pastures.
The homelessness crisis and high crime are some of the big motivating factors for why people want to leave. There are multiple businesses who have closed up and moved elsewhere now because of those issues as well.
From lawsuits and protests to threatening to withhold funds, businesses have been pushed to their limits on what to do to deal with a problem that is making communities unsafe and costing them money. Maybe moving is easier for many.
Where are Americans moving to?
Some of the top destinations for last year were areas like Las Vegas, Houston, Denver, San Antonio, Dallas, Orlando, and Austin.
Not many parents want their children to be exposed to needles on their walk to school. And despite efforts to sweep out camps and promise the issue is being dealt with, this might not be enough change for some to consider staying.
If community members feel unsafe you cannot expect them to want to stay living in such an area, same goes for business owners too.
You might ask yourself how bad do the problems have to get before community members might see some meaningful and efficient solutions employed to deal with the crisis facing cities like these around the US today.
