Scroll - Everyone, Everywhere... But Not For Me!

in #leofinance5 days ago

Scroll leverages zk-rollup technology to enhance scalability and privacy for Ethereum-compatible applications. I used Across to transfer funds to Scroll using Ethereum’s fastest and cheapest bridge! I started exploring and hoped for a slice of the $SCR airdrop!

The Scroll mission is to provide an accessible scaling solution that preserves the essence of Ethereum – trust-minimized, secure and open source. Like a scroll, our story is constantly evolving in our quest to secure Ethereum’s future and making the developer experience as easy as possible.

EVM-compatibility for seamless scaling! Scroll is designed by and for Ethereum developers. A swift, reliable and scalable Layer 2 blockchain, Scroll extends Ethereum's capabilities, enabling apps to scale without any surprises.

Building a decentralized and worldwide ecosystem through SCR distribution is key to the next stage of Scroll’s development. Scroll’s first airdrop was long awaited, and the community was ready to celebrate the collective efforts to Scroll’s success so far. It was a celebration.. but not for me!

This initial airdrop sets the stage for Scroll's goal of becoming the most globally distributed rollup, rewarding those who have contributed to the growth of Scroll’s protocol, ecosystem, and community. A total of 7% of the total supply of $SCR has been allocated and I wasn't eligible!

I bridged few times with Across, and engaged with a handful of protocols! Used Layer3 as a guide, and explored Scroll with passion! I minted several NFTs for fun, then staked weETH on Mitosis, ETH on RHO and STONE on Pencils Protocol! I even got some cool badges along the way!

I added some staYSTONE in my portfolio, swapped crypto and hustled around for Layer3 cubes and Scroll Marks! I didn't knew I was late to the party, as Session Zero and Session One were still live! I thought that my hustle would be productive.

Earned points on Aave and Rho Markets as part of the Lending & Borrowing campaign, and marks were given to users who deposited eligible assets into selected lending markets. Started to earn Marks, and I had to recognize a bad omen! I had 6.66 Marks when I first checked them!

They said that the first airdrop fairly rewards key contributors within the Scroll ecosystem. The allocation of $SCR tokens reflected the importance of participation, involvement, and community support.

Using Trenchess and other protocols wasn't enough to get myself past the finish line, and a secure a place in the community drop! This celebrated active on-chain involvement, rewarding the efforts that continue to drive Scroll’s growth and innovation.

Scroll allocated 55,000,000 SCR tokens, 5.5% of the total supply, to participants who have actively contributed to the Scroll ecosystem through their on-chain activities in the Sessions Program. The 200 Marks requirement was to high for me, as I farmed too late and too little!

Out of the 55 million $SCR allocated for the community, 40,000,000 SCR were proportionally allocated among on-chain participants who ticked the boxes at the snapshot taken on the 19th of October. This mean 4% of the total supply will be mainly shared by whales!

Those that received the airdrop got their Marks cleared, while the ones who didn't got them carried over to Season Two. I moved into the new session with 36.82 Marks, but will stop here and move my assets into more welcoming layer2s. Scroll is not for everyone!
