zkSync is the endgame! That's what they said! The sentence split the room, as some were happy with their allocations... some where not! There were two ways in which wallets qualified for the 17.5% airdrop: bridging funds onto zkSync and met at leas one eligibility criteria or contributing to the ZK ecosystem.
The eligibility and allocations for ZKsync users had four sequential steps: eligibility, allocation, multipliers and sybil detection. The final step filtered those wallets with bot behaviour. Maybe they weren't bots, just normal users that didn't go big with the hustling! Was ZK the endgame? Maybe Not!
The eligibility checker came out and I was sure I was eligible! Why? Because I hustled on zkSync since early days. I tried to leave as many blockchain "footprints" and thick boxes, and it worked. Why I put effort into this wild chase? Because I got the taste for airdrops and I wanted more!
zkSync spoilers regarding the token started after I received both $OP and $ARB airdrops, and felt that this one will be as juicy as those two. The big difference was that $OP and $ARB snapshots were not advertised as much, and silent airdrops are the best ones!
The ZK journey started with bridging 0.1 $ETH on zkSync Lite, through their official bridge. This was the recommendation from OG airdrop hunters, with a mention that this type of transactions should be repeated for few weeks. I completed zkSync quests on Zealy, but this wasn't included in the criteria, and traded a lot on ZigZag!
I used Pinata to create my own NFTs, and used Orbiter Finance to bridge ETH to zkSync Era when it was launched. However, all the transactions on Lite were pointless as somehow they didn't trigger another eligibility point. They said to be active for more than three distinct months on ZKsync Lite before the ZKsync Era launch, and I hustled in there for at least four months. Disappointed!
The zkSync Era hustle started on Sync Swap, where I've done swaps and provided liquidity! Minted Humble Tractors on MintSquare and moved to Omnisea when they closed the site. I minted few collections so maybe you remember 13 Unlucky Poops, The Guardians, ZK Pool Tractors or the Humble Tractors 4 Seasons! Started using the Element marketplace to sell or buy NFTs!
The next step was to use Maverick for swaps, and even locked $MAV for voting power. Hustled all over the place, doing Layer3 quests and minted my sweet ZKitty NFTs! Minted a good bunch of furry felines, and this also made me eligible for the $ZRO airdrop . I paid on other layer2s and the NFTs landed on zkSync, thanks to the integrated LayerZero technology.
I let the felines farm $ZKITTY tokens and claimed them after the 90 days vesting period. Best part of the claiming process? It used LayerZero for the claim and the tokens where delivered automatically on Ethereum mainnet.
So hustled for one year and when I checked the allocation page, I was both happy and sad! I was upset because I've seen people getting 100,000 $ZK tokens on multiple wallets, and I was happy to see that I've got 6184 $ZK to claim.
I ticked the box for four eligibility criteria from seven, but probably didn't triggered multipliers. Worth mentioning that my alt wallet didn't received any allocation, even if I had the Libertas Omnibus NFT and had interactions with many zk protocols. Maybe the wallet didn't meet the minimum requirement of 450 ZK tokens.
I was surprised that the Lite activity wasn't added, and I am certain that I've traded at least 10 distinct ERC-20 tokens on ZKsync Era DEXs. I checked the stats and my wallet was in the top 3% of users, but my allocation wasn't in the top 3%
Checked the multipliers and holding one of the ZKsync native NFT collections at snapshot was on the list. I had one Moody Mights NFT in my wallet, one of the seven OG collections selected for the snapshot.
Another multiplier was for those that held at least 50% of the ARB/OP/ENS airdrops for more than 90 days after claiming. Bro... I kept 100% of the $ARB and $OP airdrops so this multiplier should have triggered as well.
Addresses had to meet a minimum requirement of 450 ZK and were capped at a maximum of 100,000 ZK. Addresses with fewer than 450 ZK had their tokens recycled back into the pool. Addresses with more than 100,000 ZK had their excess tokens recycled back into the pool as well. These tokens were then redistributed and brought the minimum allocation up to 917 ZK.
I hustled on zkSync for 14 months, interacting with 63 contracts! I had 22 points and at least two multipliers... and received only 6184 tokens! I am not being a hypocrite but I feel that I deserved more. However, I am happy with the amount and never thought to FUD on Twitter like others.
I've seen people complain about being eligible on 20-30 wallets from hundreds and calling zkSync a scam! Bro are you being serious! I've seen people saying they will dump their $ZK immediately after claim, as the amount is not life-changing! WTF?
I claimed my $ZK gas free, and delegated them to a community that will vote for the best interest of the ecosystem. Through delegation, it is possible for someone who does not own any ZK tokens to hold voting power without incurring any financial cost. This removes a major economic hurdle, increasing participation in ZKsync governance.
History shows us how technology can expand personal freedoms, unleashing creativity and innovation, leading to progress and prosperity. Through ZK magic, Web3 on Ethereum can become a stronghold for privacy and achieve limitless scalability while maintaining integrity. Is zkSync the endgame? No... not yet!
