Currency debasement evolution

in #leofinance19 days ago

Hello!

Today I was reading crypto twitter and I saw an interesting chart that I want to share with you. Anthony Pompliano shared a chart comparing the most important fiat currencies and their debasement from 2000 to 2024.

The results are awful as one should think, take a look at the chart below:

Almost all of the currencies collapsed -75% or more since the year 2000. The only one that “just” collapsed 50% is the Japanese yen.

The Dollar and the Euro collapsed -78% and -73% in the same time period however currencies like the Australian dollar collapsed a -85%.

The 3rd group of currencies, the Indian rupee, the Nigerian Naira, the Chinese Yuan collapsed -99%!!

Holy shit, if you holded these 3 currencies you lost all your money in 20 years. The world is fucked, and it’s not going to change anytime soon. Governments will be debasing their currencies to pay out the large amounts of debt they have.

But now, we have HOPE. Bitcoin is hope, it can’t be debased, you can’t be tricked, you know the rules and nobody is going to change it. The only thing that stops you from holding it is conviction. Cryptocurrencies gave us hope, we are in a better position now than 20 years ago. And it’s a blessing.

Embrace volatility.

I hope you had a great day!

I'm holding the Nigerian naira, but mostly for transactional purpose. I'm telling you, the currency loses it value by every seconds, it's unbelievable.

Holy shit! It's amazing what they are doing.
Thanks for sharing your real experience in Nigeria. I hope people are not saving in Nigerian naira, and just using it for transacting.
Are you saving in other currencies? Which ones?

I'm not saving in other foreign currency. I most just covert some USDT to the native Nigerian Naira for transactional purposes. We have mostly Nigeria here, the other equivalent is mostly dead..

Ok, thanks for sharing the information.
Have a great weekend my friend.
