I'm a night owl! I'm the type of person who likes to work at night. I am more comfortable doing my jobs when most people are already asleep. The reason I like that is that I like to work when the surroundings are quiet. I can focus when there is no noise to disturb me. I think I can work better at a peaceful time of the day or night. Actually, I can only achieve that at night, that's why it became my preference even when I was still a student.
I remember when I was still in college I loved playing computer games, DOTA being one of them. I used to play all night with my friends. We spent the night at a computer shop just to play games. I used to feel that I was never tired from playing because I was still full of energy even at dawn. Maybe I sacrificed my health because of my habit. Fortunately, nothing bad happened to me or I didn't get sick even at work. But of course, it still has consequences like being late when going to school because I didn't wake up early. Of course, I failed some subjects because I lost focus on studying because I'm busy playing computer games.
It may sound bad, but I still learned something from that experience, it's camaraderie. I learned to get along with other people that I used when I was already working. Somehow we still have lessons to learn even from simple things like playing computer games. That is a type of lesson that a person can learn from his experiences in life. That is very difficult to teach young people today because the computer games they play are online. That means they can play even if their friends are far away. During my time, our game was through LAN, which is why my teammates and I had to be together in a room because our computers had to be connected with computer cables. I appreciate the old LAN set up more than the online one.
Because their game setup is online, the players no longer have personal interaction. Everything is online too, they just need a headset and they can talk while playing. Because of that setup, they don't learn camaraderie and they even become violent with each other because they don't see the other gamers they are playing with. Their social skills are reduced because of this setup.
I really hope it will return to the way it used to be.
