Happy #HivePowerUpDay! I staked 100 Hive Power. If you can stake at least 10 HP before midnight on the first of each month according to the UTC clock, @hivebuzz will issue you a personal badge to mark the achievement. The more you stake, the bigger the bee on your badge!

July Posts
- June Retrospective and July Plans, last month's edition of this post.
- Weekend Engagement: Resignation, my contribution to one of @galenkp's writing prompts in his Weekend Experiences community. Check it out if you want some writing prompts, or browse the posts there for new ideas and inspiration! I'm a very irregular writer there.
- Politically Homeless, a post about the ennui I feel as both parties are pushing as hard as they can to distance themselves from the principles I value.
- Thoughts On the Attempted Assassination of Trump, what it says on the tin. It was weird to see the US "left wing" filled with conspiracy theorists trying to downplay or outright dismiss this outrageous incident. I'm no fan of the guy, but his death would have probably unleashed terrible chaos.
- Infectious Nostalgia: A Magic Deck, where I re-build and re-balance one of my first decks. As the world goes mad over politics, I want to explore something I actually enjoy, like hobbies. Casual thematic legacy decks are fun.
- Teamwork Makes the Deck Work, a commander deck overview. This is also a casual deck, but in a different format.
- Black Magic and Witchcraft: A Magic Deck, in which I think I have the final form of a deck I have mentioned before. By the way, I re-sleeved this one. Those old glossy art sleeves I showed off before were just not good, and were de-laminating pretty badly. I recommend matte finish sleeves with a solid color opaque back.
- Democrats Hate Democracy!, a deliberately provocative title to express my disgust for the DNC's shenanigans.
- Cool Creator Spotlight: Oceanliner Designs, another recommendation for a content creator you may find interesting.
August Forecast
August is hard to predict. I have more budget Legacy and Pauper decks to review once I playtest them all a bit more. The library is growing ever more chaotic on the bureaucratic side of things, and I am often too mentally burned out to write after my shift. I'm still weighing my options while I decide whether to ride this out or take my leave and be a snowbird this winter. I'll write what I write when I write it, so stay tuned. Or don't.
Do me a favor and downvote any pointless copy/pasted rants you see on this post, though. There's a weirdo with an unhealthy obsession running a spambot.
If you're in the Pacific Northwest, or anywhere else subject to heightened wildfire risk, here's a quick reminder to have an evacuation plan and an emergency kit ready to go. Maybe keep a 72-hour bag with food, tools, water, and a change of clothes in your car at all times, too. Better safe than sorry!
