Trump Pardons Ross Ulbricht and 1500 J6 Political Prisoners

Just saw this and am very pleased for Ross. He was scapegoated for doing nothing more than enabling voluntary commerce between free people, while scumbag feddies literally stole the proceeds and lied under oath. His sentence was cruel, unusual, and completely unjust, and this is no less than he deserved.

IMG source - BBC.com - US President Donald Trump says he has signed a full and unconditional pardon for Ross Ulbricht, who operated Silk Road...convicted in 2015...

Let's hope there's a continuing reduction in criminality of government going forward, which is utterly critical to the survival of the USA.

Edit: Roger Ver next?

His sentence seemed disproportionate to other people who sold vast quantities of narcotics using the site - I grasp this a different argument than the one you are making.

The opioid epidemic was demonstrably worse than a 100 silk roads combined but "legal".

You're right. As a natural born human, I am unconvinced that some other humans have any right to demand authority over me, or anyone else, and that underlies my primary objection to Ross's conviction. I reckon the fundamental criminality inherent to those making such unjust demands of authority spilled over into blatant theft by fraud of evidence in Ross's case, and a vast array of further insults added to the cruel injury he personally - but all humanity - suffer as a result of such insuperable claims.

But, not only didn't he commit any crimes by refusing to respect criminals claiming authority to determine what commerce free, sovereign, natural born people can undertake, the relative claims of harm he was even accused of pale in comparison to myriad far more deadly frauds the pharmaceutical, insurance, and medical corporations get away with every day, exactly as you point out.

Thanks!

That was a pleasant surprise, to see Ross get pardoned! I was glad it happened, and I want to be more optimistic about improvements in the near future. This is a good one for that!
