Everyone needs motivation; however, based on the meaning of the word, it is most often needed by someone who is feeling down and out or lethargic.
When I go to events that pump me up, the most common takeaway I get is "Do Something."
If someone is unmotivated, it usually leads to or is a cause of inaction. For instance, a couple weeks ago, I couldn't think of what to post about as I was preparing to enter the world of Hive. It's kinda silly, because you can read article after article of what others have been inspired to write all day long. What did I have to do to get out of my lethargic state? I had to do something. I started making comments on others' posts. Wouldn't you know that the prompt from other people's posts brought me ideas of what I could write about!?
Motivation comes from inspiration. Inspiration is what creates the motivation to take action. Here are some quotes/ideas I use to inspire me to have the motivation I need to take action. If you are feeling unmotivated, find something that inspires you first in the area you want to take action.
I'm feeling unmotivated to work out.
Find a picture online of someone who is heavier than you, thicker than you, doing something that is disgusting to you.

Tell yourself...I don't want to be like that...if that doesn't work, do the opposite...

Now tell yourself, "I'm going to look like that."
The next step after either being disgusted or being impressed is to be inspired to do something about your current state. You have to think about what you'll do differently, or start doing, to get to the state you want to be in. I'm not talking about making a goal. I'm talking about setting a system. Start doing the things that that person would do to look like however it is you want to look.
I want to be motivated to write on Hive/LeoFinance/Proof of Brain or Verify Your Brain, etc.
If you aren't motivated to write a post and you have the resource credits, go read a random post. Pick a number between 1-15 and count that many posts down from the newest of the new posts. When you get to that number, open it up, read it in its fullest, and comment as if the person who just posted it will listen to you and respond to you. You've now written. You've taken action. I'm hoping that this little blurb of "funness" has inspired you to take a step. That inspiration is your motivation. If you take action, the motivation cycle has completed, though the motivation to do more may increase. As people take action upon action, they see successes where they want to see them. If you choose to look at the success, you are more likely to desire to keep doing that same thing...motivation. If you choose to look at the negative side..."they didn't respond to my comment or upvote it"....you need to find motivation in commenting on someone else's post until you happen upon one that has such a compelling story that you are now reminded of something you can write.
The next step when you find your motivation, in my opinion, if it comes to writing is to give a shout out to the person who motivated you to write in the first place. Today, it was a post that someone else wrote because of something @savagetobi wrote.

We're on a fun ride toward the end of our life. Earning money/coins, etc. is fun, but the adventure is the greatest part. If you're not feeling motivated to do anything right now and you're reading my words, do this...make a comment on my post. Tell me I'm full of it! Tell me that I have no idea how to motivate people to do anything. Tell me that you didn't feel like writing anything anyway and that I can't make you! Go ahead...do it! I'm not gonna make you...I'm just hoping to inspire you to take some action 🤯
How do you motivate yourself? Leave me a comment on what you do to get hyped up. My biggest motivator is thinking about what could happen if I took action. I often see greatness from within. If I use my inner-greatness to do something that shows externally, I will have fulfilled greatness both inside and out. Sending you all !LUV ...well, I don't think I have any of that luv to give...so here's sending you my LOVE! I'll get you there...
