Video credit- Master of Puppets Remastered from Metallica's YouTube channel
To me, this classic Metallica anthem sums up the past 3-years nicely. Master of Puppets is an essential and timely Metallica track. From the album Master of Puppets released in 1986 during the hay days of the heavy metal era, this is a classic band and a timeless tune.
Master of Puppets is pulling the strings... There have been many masters who have taken charge in our world who never should have. We are all servants to vices, fear of the future and the regrets of the past. The heavy metal guitar riffs and the trademark Metallica vocals make this a classic. Make sure to listen to the music on the YouTube link at the beginning of the post, and if this is your first time hearing this, you're in for a treat.
I heard this song for the first time as a young child. I have been a Metallica fan for 30-years, and am a bit upset that they pushed the vaccine so hard. Them and The Offspring became somewhat fascist when it came to bodily atonomy. I was concerned because the song One by Metallica is all about the choice to make one's own medical decisions and the horror that comes from being unable to do so.
Master of Puppets has a good guitar solo, nice lyrics and a memorable lyrical backing. It is a timely tune that is timeless as well. We will always have oppressive rulers and vices that dictate how we act.
Give it a listen, and make sure to have it cranked up. This is the kind of music you play in your machine shop or before a long shift. I love it.
