Introduction
@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do! It is nice to sit down on a Tuesday morning and listen to some tunes and I usually have them on all morning.
Our picks
This week we are all about the wonderful songs of Santigold who although has quite a few plays is somewhat underated or unnoticed in my opinion. She has been around the scene for a while now and is an American singer/songwriter. She is known for blending genres and that is, as a producer, what initially attracted me to her.
Song 1
This was one of her first songs I hear and i remember it definitely intrigued me. Those beats almost DNB then with this crunchy guitar but a reggae off beat organ thrown in on the chorus. Quite interesting in terms of genre that is for sure
Song 2
This second song for some reason played on loop once while I was playing a computer game for about 2 hours and I only vaugly noticed as I was obsorbed in what I was doing. Now I feel like this song is ingrained in my head. great vocals and a very simple backing track, again the genre/influences are not entirely clear which to me makes it interesting.
Song 3
Now my last choice is a later song of hers and shows her in a different light again. Again the simplicity of the music is decieving and shows off her many vocals talents and styles she has.
