Today I realized in the short time I've spent on Hive, I haven't introduced myself yet. So in this post, I write something about me and what I do.
My name is James Musamali, from Uganda. Am not new on this Blockchain, I was earlier on steemit and then I broke off for more than 2 years due to some commitments in business. I returned of recent only to find Hive, which is running much better than steemit was and couldn't imagine myself not being part of this experience.
I currently reside in Mukono district located in the central part of the country.
It's in Mukono still, where I work from at a Computer and Phone repairs business which I started. In this business I repair phones and computers in both hardware and software. I as well do graphics designing; making posters, business cards, logos and all that go in that line. And I offer classes on doing all these activities.
It's an interesting business, a real pleasure when you bring to life a phone or computer which had stopped working. If u haven't fixed an electronic device yourself, you should try it. There are countless videos on how to repair anything on YouTube that will guide you.
On addition to the repairs business, I run a piggery farm. I started the piggery farm way before the repairs business. It's actually the farm that gave birth to the repairs business. All the Capital I used to start the business came from the farm.
I employ 2 people, one at the repairs business and one at the farm. These help me be on the ground as I try my best to oversee the running of all the projects.
These businesses earn me some income to take care of me and my family and also to facilitate my employees. I keep reminding them the importance of customers and how to make them feel good otherwise they'll not give us their money and the businesses will definately close.
I was pushed into the business space after looking for a job for some years and always hitting a dead end. Whenever I would be successful in getting a job, it would be low paying and to make it worse, the money would sometimes not come at the end of the month.
Just imagine earning $50 a month and still the money doesn't come sometimes and yet you have bills to pay and food to buy. That's the kind of situation in my country.
The Standard of Living for 80% of the population is too low because of the low pay. Very sad. This is what inspired me to join business where I earn from the effort I put in not what someone decides to pay me. And in this way I can support my people and the people in my community and lift them as well.
The time I've taken in business has instilled in me a passion for investing. That's why there is no way I could avoid putting a few bucks in Crypto. I invest in cryptocurrency where I buy and hodl coins until their prices rise to a significant amount and withdraw.
At the moment my investment has gone so down as your all aware of what's going on in the market. But that only calls for the discipline of patience and to diversify your income streams.
Thanks to Hive, and the Leofinance community in particular, I know a lot more than just investing in cryptocurrency. There is web3, Defi and a whole lot more to understand in the world of cryptocurrency.
My life is not all about work only though, I have hobbies, with interests in playing football, chess, and traveling.
I live in such a beautiful country, there are multiple rivers, lakes, mountains, forests, falls, a lot. This keeps me traveling once a while to explore and enjoy the gift of nature.
That's the best I could say about me. Hive is becoming more of a home to me. Am on the platform most of the time whenever am not working. The wonderful stories and articles people share make you addicted to the platform.
Thanks for reading.
