Risingstar - Do you feel lucky, Punk?

Obviously this Punk isn't feeling too lucky:

So let's look at the impact of Luck in your RisingStar game, will it help you go faaar?

At the beginning of the day, Luck is at 12866 and fans is at 55510.

After a few quests we start to acquire the odd drunk fan, in fact, quite a few odd-looking drunk fans:

07:37 7776 drunks love your music and became your fans because all your whiskey bottles are full. They will probably forget who you are when they sober up!
08:38 1449 drunks love your music and became your fans because all your whiskey bottles are full. They will probably forget who you are when they sober up!
09:44 118 drunks love your music and became your fans because all your whiskey bottles are full. They will probably forget who you are when they sober up!
10:47 408 drunks love your music and became your fans because all your whiskey bottles are full. They will probably forget who you are when they sober up!
13:26 1382 drunks love your music and became your fans because all your whiskey bottles are full. They will probably forget who you are when they sober up!

That's a total of 11,133 temporary fans lasting 12 hours.

So what's the big deal?

Well fans equal more income potential per-mission.

The more fans you have when playing a mission the higher the maximum number of Starbits you can earn.

That's great, but then you have to factor in Ego.

If you're going to get all 'full of yourself', then it's going to upset your fans.

Upset fans don't buy records and memorabilia.

So you need to keep your Ego in check.

We do this with Skill.

There are two ways of increasing Skill:

#1. Buy cards with the Skill attribute.

#2. Complete Music Lesson missions.

I have a lot of Guitar based instrument cards, such as Sitars, Bass Guitars, Acoustic Guitars etc.

The Luck value of all these Guitar cards directly affect the Skill I can gain from completing Guitar Lesson missions.

Even Luck from multiples of the same Guitar Card count.

For every 10 luck on a Guitar card the maximum Skill increases by 1 point and the minimum Skill is half of the maximum Skill.

For each one hour, Guitar mission completed, Skill will increase permanently by a random value between 376 and 752.

14:47 So now you know 3 chords you can play the whole of the Status Quo catalogue! You gained 708 Skill points.
16:02 So now you know 3 chords you can play the whole of the Status Quo catalogue! You gained 572 Skill points.
17:08 So now you know 3 chords you can play the whole of the Status Quo catalogue! You gained 576 Skill points.

If I did Singing Lesson missions I would get considerably fewer Skill increases because my card collection does not include much Luck from my Microphone Instrument cards.

So whilst Luck increases the chance of gaining (Temporary - lasting 12 hours) drunk Fans and this can cause the positive impact of more Starbits per Missions and the negative impact on Starbits earning because of Ego.
The Luck attribute also gives you the ability to rapidly increase your Skill, thus reducing the impact of Ego as Luck directly affects the Skill gained from Music Lessons.
If you specialise and collect instruments of a similar type, you can maximise the Skill increases per mission.

So how do I know the luck from a Sitar, increases Guitar Lesson skill?

I've only been playing Rising Star for a week or so. So I'm still only at the beginning.

I have been playing for less than a year, just keep playing and earning the Starbits and expand your collection of cards / fans.

I reached level 12 today so I've been able to get some singing and guitar lessons. I still don't really understand what I'm doing, but I'm sure I'll get there!

At level 15 or 1000 fans (if I remember correctly) you need to start understanding Ego.

For every Starbits earning mission, there is an Ego value, your Ego will permanently go up by this amount.

Once your Ego becomes greater than skill it will reduce the number of Starbits your get per mission.

So you need to do Lessons to permanently increase Skill or acquire cards that have skill value.

Once you get your skill above your Ego you will earn more Starbits again.

The Max Starbits for completing a mission can be increased by having more Fans, Fans are either Drunk (temporary for 12 hours) or permanent (from cards).

You get a better chance of more drunk Fans if you have more Luck.

Basically, everything interlinks and you need to keep finding the sweet spot to earn max Starbits, keeping the fans happy, whilst not upsetting them.

Good luck!

Thank you for the explanation. I only have 10 fans at the moment. Thankfully I manage to pick up a few drunks.
