The Samaritan wasn't that bad!

in #neoxian2 years ago

This movie had been on my bucket list for a while. I am a huge Stallone fun and seeing him in the role of a super hero sounded fun.

However, @urun wrote a review claiming it was dog shit so I didn't have much high hopes about it.

Anyways, I got the chance to see it today and imo it wasn't that bad. First, I must say I really enjoyed the acting of Stallone in this movie. The role fitted him well and he delivered nicely!

Other than that, I guess it's a mediocre forgettable movie. The kid protagonist was really annoying. The guy (I am too lazy to check his name) playing the bad guy did a good job but unfortunately his character was badly written and felt like there was no motive behind his actions. The other actors were good enough I guess. Although more hot chick criminals would be nice.

The special effects were good enough although I'd expect a bit more action since this is a super hero movie.

I also wish we had more character building on the backstory of the Samaritan and Nemesis, the details and extent of his powers etc etc.

At least the flow of the movie was good and there wasn't a second I got bored. There's a few more things I'd like to say but I'd probably spoil the film.

If you are a Stallone fun I guess this is a must watch, even if it is just to see him playing a different role. If not, feel free to skip.

I'll give it a 6/10!

A young boy learns that a superhero who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago may in fact still be around. source

I think a 6/10 is too generous. I watched it too and it was very underwhelming.

Well maybe I am not objective cause I love sly!

I saw this. It was mediocre at best. But I do agree that Sly was good in it. Even if it was a C- movie.

Finally it's out okay well I think I'll go chase it down maybe here soon.

Personally I'm doing John wick 2 and 3 today!!!!

Going to watch some three gun and martial arts action.

Well that is until I get to be around the top Filipino martial artists in the world.

😍😍😍

I need to watch this movie because am also a Sylvester Stallone fan and I would love to see his role been played here.

it was dog shit

I think cat shit smells worst. Strange how idioms work

But it tastes better

:)))

6/10... that's 60%.. a failing grade are most universities.. I believe I'll skip this one even though I'm a Sly fan

If you like sly, you will like the movie :)

I still to watch it. The last movie of Stallone that I've seen is Rambo, the one where he rescue her daughter !

Samaritan sounds interesting. I have seen enough superhero movies to know not to expect too much from them movies. Just relax and enjoy it for what it is in fantasy land for a couple of hours. 😊 I will look out for it. Thanks for your post. 😊

After the disappointment of Bruce Willis' Fortress, I would not want to experience a similar thought with Stallone. Maybe I'll watch it in the future, but I'd better wait a while.

The bad guy in this movie looks like the bad guy in the first "Transporter" movie with Jason Statham. I can't remember his name, though and I'm too lazy to look it up. I think the bad guy in this movie and the "Transporter" movie was also one of the bad guys pretending to be good in Blade 2 with Wesley Snipes.

I can't believe I wrote that and am still too lazy to look it up. :(
