What's up everyone, hoping you have a nice day. I present to you my entry for Splinterlands weekly art contest. It's my first time joining this event though I no longer play splinterlands now, I'm here to just have fun and join these amazing artists here.
My initial plan is to make a Glow-art since it's been a long time since I made one. So I had to search on the website for a card that would give me a nice glow and I found this fire-type Chaos Legion card,*** Tarsa***. She's a summoner that gives +1 in health and melee attacks. I haven't tried using this card though because the only fire-type summoner I could use before is Malric Inferno and Pyre.
Art Process:
I choose this pin here to use as my pose reference because it kind of gives off a fiery attitude befitting for the card type. I've drawn quite a few of this pose on my papers here before I was able to slightly grasp the flow. I also draw lines on the reference itself to serve as my basis for the measurements. I encounter one problem here and it is I couldn't draw Tarsa's bangs in this kind of perspective, the solution I came up with is to just get rid of it.
I didn't directly paint with colors, instead, I played a little bit in greyscale as I've been studying with greyscale since last week. I thought that since I'm already here why not just apply or test out what I've recently learned?
After being satisfied with my progress in greyscale. I then next painted the skin, hair, and clothes. It turned out that the greyscale could pass through with the layer above if you change the setting of the layer (example: normal-to-multiply) it's my first time discovering those functions which are quite amazing. Here, I mainly used watercolor brushes and pencil brushes (with fade-in and out) to give highlights to the hair.
Thank you for your time
