Hello
thanks you for the warm welcome to HIVE.
Still don't quite understand it all but we are slowly trying to get heads around it.
anyway
Now I'm posting as a person- not quite as a theatre collective.
We've got a job on today but it is so far away in a different time zone I can't even work out what time it starts. So, thought I'd share a little bit of writing in the meantime in the spirit of sharing and owning content and celebrating that.
Ive always been torn between country and city but have now lived in London for over 25 years, which is weird and sometimes terrifying. Its a big city that takes ages to cross and zaps your strength and spits you out sometimes, the inequality here is stunning :the fancy shops and conspicuous consumption set against the shameful amount of homeless and hungry people living here. But despite all the its contradictions, London is the place I call home and it is diverse and stuff goes on in it and somehow I'm still here. I do sometimes leave it though to look after and visit family. so
This is a sort of ode to London.
Gideon Reeling has got a show in mind that might one day see the light of day and this bit of writing will be in it. Perhaps we will manage to fundraise for it one day- in the meantime.
this is the station that gets me home - there are different routes you can take to the capital from this bit of England's green and pleasantness - one heads straight into central London and others ease the traveller in more gently via changes at quieter stations. Mind the Step
and this is the dog that grounds me sometimes
And this
is a piece of writing.
