Trump Really Is Renaming the Gulf of Mexico
Donald Trump will order the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska’s Mount Denali in his first hours as the 47th president.
The Gulf of Mexico will be rechristened the Gulf of America, and Denali, the highest mountain in North America, will revert to Mount McKinley — which it was called in the sight of the US government until President Barack Obama changed the name in 2015.
Other than some maps from USGS, everyone else will still know it’s the Gulf of Mexico.
