A waste of time

in #online-games11 days ago

Few days back I ordered somethings online from this site called Temu. It's an online shopping site of the Middle East focusing on lifestyle items. I do not prefer shopping clothes and accessories online, but then sometime back I was at my friend's place and over there almost everyone was wearing clothes that they had ordered online from this site and they were all highly talking about it. The clothes and accessories that all of them had, looked good. I knew about it but did not want to venture in it, when I saw their clothes I got tempted so then I thought of checking it for myself.

I did like quite a few clothes but again my skeptical mind kept going in and out of it. After 2 to 3 days of browsing, I picked up a few items and ordered. After that I started getting their constant promotion messages. Today morning I had this pop up saying claim your free gift. We all enjoy freebies right? Why not. I got caught up in it. To claim the freebies there were some steps to be followed, which I completed, after that there were referral invites to be sent, which too I sent to some people I knew had not used this.

Then the last step to claim the free gift was to play some game, and I started with that also. I did not realize that in all of this I spent almost 2 hours and yet by the end of it, nothing happened because the game kept getting complicated at every level and I guess it would take may be days to complete that game. So then I just gave up. The greed of freebies can make us do any crap. I was actually annoyed with myself later for being so foolish and getting into this kind of unnecessary activity.

Those 2 free items is where I got stuck up :-)

And ended playing up this game for 2 hours....haha

To be honest, the site is not a scam, it's a very legit online shopping portal and they have some very good stuff, but getting caught up in this kind of activity is surely foolish. Though I am still tempted with those freebies, but I am not going to get into this gaming thing again and waste my time, especially the morning time which is ideally the most productive time for me. I did not realize how times passed in it and then it was almost mid day. I kept telling myself just 5 minutes more every time I would see the time and then keep continuing with it. Only after a while it struck me that it was silly of me to keep doing these kind of things. Anyways I am going to be mindful about it now.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Online games are actually made for wasting people time's, so that they could waste their precious time and make the owner earn otherwise who will be willing to make such games. But the main points comes when each and every person over has a self control over him or her and knows about how precious their time is and utilise it wisely on appropriate things...

It depends on us how much power we give to them and how much of our time we want to waste in these kind of things. Once in a way it is ok for leisure but then one must not get caught up in it

It's a clever trick they make to users as engaged as possible on thier platforms. For those of us who are very persistent, we might continue going down the trail just to see what's really on the other side. But you're definitely right, the gift received at the end isn't necessarily worth the amount of effort spent.

True, it keeps luring us but not really worth

I know Temu is really legitimate, though the games and tasks has wasted my time then.

It is addictive, even just browsing their site, because there are so many options you keep getting back to it again and again
