Surprise engagement shoots are some of my favorites. This one was special as we knew the couple personally.
The future groom had completed his homework and setup the scene. It would be a fun start to the day with an airplane ride from a friend around the local area. While they were up in the air, we would set the scene inside the plane hanger with flowers and a nice little table. The plane would be landing back at the local airport at just before sunset to allow for perfect photos. The weather looked to be perfect.
To help pull off the surprise, the pilot parked his truck across from the hanger doors, and we would stay hidden in the back of his truck until the moment the future groom dropped to one knee and then SURPRISE! as we snap off the photos.
After she said "YES!" We did some shots with them in the plane, outside the plane, and a few portraits with that beautiful golden sunset. All in all, the surprise was a success and a future wedding day is now booked :)
