My last vacations were quite some time ago, and as the portuguese weather gets warmer and warmer (these last few days almost seemed like summer), I find myself craving nature more and more.
Being in the middle of the woods is enough to replenish my energies, and if there are bodies of water nearby, even better. There's no need of the stunning forest and waterfalls from Plitvice, in the above photo; nor the ancient craters surrounded by mist that we can find in Açores, as below.
Just trees, water, and distance from civilization will do!
Grabbing a backpack, binoculars, a camera, and spending the day on a hiking trail is my definition of an awesome day; even more, if the day finishes with one of those stunning sunsets.
If everything goes according to plan, in a couple weeks I'll be having a prolonged weekend in a place with plenty of nature nearby; it will be a shorter stay than I had antecipated, but it is what it is: will have to do!
Meanwhile, to help these couple of weeks pass, revisiting memories of some of the landscapes I've been blessed to witness already brings a little joy! The two above photos? From Tihany, Hungary; one of those decided on the moment trips that proved to be awesome!
Nature wise, Costa Rica will probably remain for the forseeable future as my top nature destination...
... although, even with less biodiversity, can't really complain about the national landscapes, can I?
Do you feel better surrounded by nature too? Or city is more your thing?
T-minus one and a half week for my nature fix! :)
