The weather has taken a turn for the worse this weekend with a good few showers. They've been welcome though, it has been humid and they've freshened things up a little.
It was a lovely weekend last week and a great opportunity to go for a walk along the seafront and visit the local Wheels Festival. As a petrol head and lover of taking photos, it scratched two itches as the same time, the youngest also got to test out her new scooter.
There was a real mixture of things to see. Classics, performance, modified and also a wall of death, monster truck rides and stunt shows. A fantastic free event.
In no particular order!
This funky little Rover. I'm not sure whether its a Rover Metro or Rover 100 but as you can see it's a little shorter than normal!
I'm a fan of Jaguars and would love to drive any one of the supercharged derivatives. There were a bunch of XK R models (R denoting it's supercharged) for me to drool over.
I think this is a Corvette Stingray from the 1960s and to be honest, one of my favourite cars on show,
Also one of my favourites as I'd love to build one of these! It's a DAX Cobra built from a kit. The bonnet hides a 6300 cc V8 engine. Not the kind of car to drive in anything other than perfect conditions.
I love old Fords! My mum had Mk2 Escort when I was a nipper. I can just about remember remember my dad having a MK4 Cortina and Sierra too.
Another car that's a little shorter than intended when on the design board! A cool VW camper ... that's now a little too small for camping.
This green Escort Mexico was something a little special. Like the orange one about I imagine this would have an eyewatering price tag if if found itself for sale.
Is it a Ford? Is it a Lotus? A 1966 Lotus Cortina, again it'll be worth a small fortune!
Somebody else likes their Jaguars! Made me chuckle that this one had a baby seat in the back.
Another DAX kit, 5736cc V8. I love the Coupe styling.
Randomly grabbed a shot of the old Naval Hospital.
As somebody who's terrified of heights, I'll not be doing this any time soon!
Being the first weekend of the month, the local lifeboat crew were out on exercises.
My youngest daughter loves America style trucks so this was her pic of the bunch.
Lots to see, I love the old vs the new.
The Winter Gardens are looking so run down these days. Thankfully there's a plan to bring them back to life.
I thought my youngest would have fancied a trip on the monster truck but she thought it looked "terribly dangerous". I'd have loved a bash!
