How goes it Hive?
What a day it is here on the east coast today (UK)! Just washed down the garden furniture and thought I'd take a few moments out to write a post before heading out to toast myself for a while.
We had the return of the Wheels Festival in the local town at the beginning of the month. Due to COVID it's the first time in 2 years and it was great to see so many people out and about. The show takes over the "Golden Mile" and is a massive selection of classic and contemporary cars. It was a great excuse to break out the camera and go for a walk! The kids tagged along and were bored and tired after 40 minutes or so, I think we barely scratched the surface.
Firstly this Oldsmobile was pretty stunning. I think it's an 88 and the license place suggests it's from 1955. Looked perfectly in place parked up outside one of the hotels.
This Mk4 Escort is right up my street as I've a thing for cars from the 80s and 90s. I didn't get much of a look as the kids were dragging me up the road so not sure whether it's a "proper" RS Turbo. Either way it was a bit lovely!
A 90's classic here with the Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI. These must be getting as rare as hens teeth now! Always fancied one back in the day but grabbed a rather marvellous Rover 216GTI Twin Cam instead. Wanted something a little different at the time.
An immaculate Lotus Esprit V8 ES. Absolutely stunning! I'm a larger gentlemen so (up and out) so not sure I'd ever fold myself into one of these.
It was lovely and warm day and the cloud made it a little easier taking photos!
It's one of these ... whatever one of these is meant to be.
There seems to be something for everyone when it comes to making your car as fancy as possible. I think this was some form of wrap coating that enables you to pimp your engine bay. Think it would be a bit overkill for my mighty Mondeo.
The Dodge Charger SRT. Although the plate is much earlier I think this was from the late 00s, maybe a 2008. Whatever the year it isn't eco/fuel friendly as I think many were 5.7L V8s.
I love a good Harley Davidson. This one doesn't look too comfortable and had a odd leak.
Some old ford thing! Again I dragged away before having the chance to actually find anything out about it.
A mixture of modern Harley Davison's amongst other things. It must take hours to keep the chrome in such good condition.
An absolutely stunning Mk1 XR2. I god to drive my pals Mk2 XR2 a good few years ago now and that was a great little car.

I think this is a Citroen BX. I remember these from when I was a young lad as a a few neighbours had varies models with their funky air suspension.
A great old ford from the US. My grandad had something similar I think (they moved to the states). His was a little later than this one though.
I remember this Cleo's being released in my early 20's. The vents behind the door are for engine cooling as instead of being under the bonnet, the 3.0L V6 sits where the back seats would be. I think these things sell for up to £80,000 these days.
The good old Ford Capri, MK1 3.0 I think.
As you can tell, plenty of stuff to dribble over! Already looking forward to it returning in 2023 - I think I might attempt to go without the kids!
