Magandang buhay!
It feels like a long time since our last road trip and while we had one planned for the today, Typhoon Nika came early so we had no choice but to cancel it even when we were ready to hit the road this morning. The heavy rain and strong winds kept us indoors (and in bed). Not a good start to the new week but we can't do anything. Mother nature does its thing without asking for our permission, lol!
Well, I did have a way to entertain myself for a little while, thanks to the hubby for his series of photographs taken during his trip with our nephew sometime last week while I was at my parents.
They took a 5-hour drive to the lowlands for some errands (to purchase machinery and other stuff), spending 3 days and 2 nights in the warmer region of Cagayan Valley. And during their journey, they captured some lovely landscapes and sights, and with their permission, I'm sharing the pictures today.
Green fields and majestic mountains in the backdraft are a sight to behold!
And like me, the hubby loved taking photos of stretchy and curvy roads too. These sights and all the others made me gasp imagining how I would have enjoyed the trip had we (Yongi and I) went with them. There will be another time, hopefully.
This photo of a long bridge over a river reminded me of a similar sight we saw in Bontoc during our family trip some time ago. The terrain is strikingly the same!
And I guess it's perfect to end this photo story edition with pictures of the beautiful sunset somewhere in Viscaya when they visited the trading center. It's wonderful to see such colors in the sky, even in pictures. I did a bit of editing to highlight the blue and warmer hues.
The last time I watched the sundown in person was through the hospital windows almost two weeks ago. And the truth is, it's been a long while since the hubby and I both sat outside our doorstep and enjoyed a sunset. The thought made me miss the Lil Kingdom all the more. It's where time tend to slow down and we get to watch the sky change colors around evening time.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely day (night), and may the new week bring us good tidings and bliss. Cheers, frens and until next time!
