It's no secret that the hive blockchain has a user problem. One that many of us have worked hard to overcome in the last 5 years. But even now we are a relatively small blockchain with only a couple of thousand users. Of course this will change as people come here bit by bit, trickle by trickle. But one thing that's becoming very apparent is time is ticking. Whilst once upon a time we were revolutionary in this space, we are becoming behind the curve in certain areas. That's why it's nice to see projects like the @vsc.network work hard to bring us into 2024.
Hive's greatest success is also it's greatest failure. We are an in house marketing tool. People who want to start up a new project can so and have an immediate audience to review their product. This is something no other blockchain has. There is no need to spend thousands and thousands on a marketing budget when we already have an amazing audience ready to go. This is quite different from other chains. Some of the marketing I've been proposed in the past when we've wanted to branch out into other ventures has been five figures.
But with all this amazingness it has made us quite insular in our marketing. Who needs to go out and find people for new and amazing projects when we already have an in house audience ready and waiting. That's why hive engine projects are being stretched quite thin. People are invested in several projects and it's just the same money being regurgitated around. We need fresh capital from new sources. ALL of us do.
Wouldn't this be more amazing if Hive had the audience to match the requirements? Suddenly you would make the hard uphill struggle to lift a project off the ground into the millions of dollars relatively simple. But we'll never do that without lots and lots of people buying and selling Hive. Right now we are way below where we should be.
That's why I'm proposing we fund a marketing adventure into YouTube. This is where the marketing is, and this is where our audience resides / will be. Crypto marketing will be all the rage on YouTube in the next year. The numbers are rising rapidly and because there is quite a skills gap between the audience and presenter I feel this is where I'm adequately positioned to make a move on this market.
That's why I'm putting in a funding bid for $3000 to get us some good equipment to hit the ground running. I don't need paid for my work, I'm hoping that will speak for itself and pay its own way eventually. But what I'd like to do is hit the ground running:
Here's what I need:
- Decent dslr camera that can record wide angle views - $1000
- Proper professional green screen - $200
- Proper lighting - $200
- Professional data tracking tools, software (for the year) (i/e keywords, competitors, etc) - $600
- $1000 float should anything arise that I may need (I like to plan for the unplannable) - $1000
Total: $3000
I already have semi professional sound system, a good computer system, and quite decent software to handle my needs.
What you'll get from me:
You will get a:
- Weekly update on my progress, and the videos will be shared from the @brofund account.
- At the very least 3 videos per week
- Detailed analytics of my progress - how many people are clicking through to hive, what the general consensus is.
- A funding feedback group on the BRO Discord. People can come in at any time and comment, ask questions, submit ideas for videos.
- Free promotions for the hive community. The more substantial our audience gets, the better placed you will be for a promotion. This is something that will work well for all of us. I want to promote hive and all that we offer, you want to promote your project (providing it's decent), a marriage of convenience lets say.
- Anything I make from this venture personally I will be buying substantial amounts of hive with. I want power and influence over consensus is our goal.
- A detailed analysis of how much hive I buy weekly through earning through this venture (which will eventually come maybe in 6 months or so)
But who are you? And what can you do? Aren't you just a nobody outside of hive?
Well, I guess that's dependent on who you ask. I came here as an influential blogger in the mental health space. I used to write on prominent magazines such as the Huffington post before they started to disagree with my morals and ethics and I refused to write another word for them.
My blog, before I let it go used to get over 30,000 hits per month to it before I had to leave the space. That's why I went full time hive, because the mental health space was changing and a new way of thinking was coming which works against everything I believe to the core.
So I have a lot of experience handling a large audience and balancing the trade off between what people want to hear versus what they need to hear, and that also includes mean people saying mean things don't phase me. I also understand how to manage analytics and how to create content that people want to watch, versus what they don't. I've a good 10 years experience on that one. I am able to subtly plant seeds of thought into audiences without them realising it. My forte is mental health.
The transition between YouTube and writing has been a difficult one. I've had to learn how to not only get my audience to watch, but to also feel and hear. There is a different level to making videos that I had not understood prior to me taking up the idea of doing YouTube. But I go with the idea that if I improve something every day, then my 100th video will be a lot different from my first.
I've already started the YouTube journey and with the limited equipment that I have I am already doing not bad. I haven't posted all week because I've been down with Covid. This would have been a lot higher with many more views had I not taken unwell.
With new equipment I'm very very confident I can take this to the next level. And hive.
Our channel if you would like to review the content. See how I subtly mention hive in every one of them? hah. Anyway: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbcXGmm5SKpgNbbk7bIhwAQ
How will hive benefit?
Okay, well, there's a lot of money to be made in YouTube. My main aim is to work with new and old tokens and build an active and respondent community so that I can charge good amounts of crypto for seeking an audience. By doing this I can:
- Pull more eyes onto our projects
- As a biproduct of people buying our tokens they will need to buy hive
- Content is king so I will be talking lots about the benefits of decentralization and the hive blockchain.
- Pull people into the idea of double posting onto places like 3speak
- Show people how having an auto audience is so much easier than needing $100,000 up front for a proper marketing budget.
- Money that I make from this venture, portions will go to buying up hive. I want hive too!
And that's it.
I feel hive will get a lot more out of this proposal than it puts into it.
Thank you for your consideration!
