Hello, Splinterlands Community !
I hope everyone is doing great and safe and to all those who are trying to make money everyday, I salute to all of you for balanacing your life depsite of hectic schedules.
Today, we are going to talk about the most common card in the Splinterlands: The Pelacor Deceiver. Pelacor Deceiver can be obtained by buying it in the market, completing quest and receiving season rewards. This card is not that given much attention because of the players think that it is so weak. Well, actually, they are so WRONG! and today, we are going to discuss that.
THE LORE
Many centuries ago, the Pelacor followed the prophet, Edalus, on what has become known as the ‘Exile.’ They followed him into the Mountains of Fire surrounding Mount Praetorous. For generations they lived alone in these mountains, hidden away. They were taught to worship the sun and moon gods, Solaki and Lunaki, deities dreamt into existence from the bones of Edalus’ dead parents and his zealous mind. The scriptures read that the two Gods were carried into the heavens upon pieces of consecrated land, torn from the World to raise them high, so that their worshipers would always look up to them and forever be beneath their great heavenly power.
On the darkest night of each year, Edalus would invoke rituals that would change the bodies of his people. Drawing upon the dormant power beneath the mountains, he caused angelic wings to sprout from their backs. This change was permanent and, in fact, most Pelacor offspring inherited the appendages from their parents.
When Edalus finally passed away, ancient as he was, there was infighting between the people as to who should lead. Fractures in their harmonious way of life started to appear, and two very definitive factions arose. One worshiped the brother God, Solaki, and the other worshiped the sister God, Lunaki. So began the ‘War of the Sons and Daughters’, where Pelacor fought against one another, a rivalry that still continues to this day amongst some.
When the magic veil over Praetoria and the Mountains of Fire fell, and the Chaos Legions invaded, the Pelacor decided they could hide away no more. Believing that the Chaos Legion would turn upon their floating Gods next if they conquered the Splinterlands, they began their ‘Great Descent’ into the lowlands, determined to fight this new threat that had arrived upon their world, and joined with the Lowlanders armies.
“My Lord,” the soldier said, falling to his knees at the feet of a horse. “We have been undone, your entire western flank has been decimated.”
“What!” Xehes roared. “How can that be possible? There were over a thousand of you!”
“It was the scout, Lord. She took us along the river and through the woods. As we neared the enemies staging point for their second wave we were ambushed, set upon by hundreds of creatures, all of them like her. They flew from the skies and dropped down from the trees, cutting through our ranks and causing complete disarray.”
“I paid her a lot of money to find a way through to their rear guard.” Xehes gripped the reins of his horse and seethed. “And she cheats me out of the coin I gave in good faith.”
“That’s not all, my Lord,” the man groveled even lower, his cheek touching the wet mud. “She said that she would be back, to collect the rest of the money from your chest. She said it was a burden you shouldn’t have to carry around with you anymore.”
“Is that so.” Xehes narrowed his eyes. “It would seem we have another enemy that must be dealt with this day. When I’m done with those winged deceivers, they’ll wish they never met me.”
This card is a Common Death Monster with Flying ability. Monsters with this kind of ability has increase chance of evading melee and range attacks. This monster has 1 melee attack, 3 speed, and 8 lives. Base on the characteristics of this monster, we can say that it has tank quality. Its life is so high, it can survive many attacks and its speed is also commendable because it can definitely avoid many attacks with that speed. It becomes more powerful due to its flying ability because this only means that it has a very high chance of evading melee and range attacks. Despite of its powerful stats, its low damage and high mana needed is also a concern. This card has only 1 melee attack which means its attack is useless against monsters with shield ability. The 5 mana is also a big deal because it can limits the players on choosing other cards, especially to low mana battle. If ever you are planning to use this card in battle, make sure to elevate its attack and it can now really a great asset in the game.
Aside from flying, this monster develops another abilities as it level up.
On level 6, this monster gains new ability called BACKFIRE. Monsters with this kind of ability creates 2 damage on the attacker that misses to attack this monster. That is a very great, powerful, and useful ability for this monster due to that fact that it has a very high chance of evading an attack. That could lead the player to win the battle. Also on this level, this monster has 2 melee attacks, 4 speed, and 10 lives. At this level, this monster needs 100 BCX.
On level 10, on its maximum level, this monster gains new ability again called RETALIATE. Monster with this kind of ability has a chance to attack back its attacker. That is very useful at this level because this monster has higher melee attack now and that could really contribute to the damage in the game. At this level, this monster has 3 melee attacks, 5 speed, and 10 lives. On its final level, it needs 400 BCX to attain that level.
THE CARD STATUS IN THE GAME
Due to the commonality of this card, it has a very high circulation. Today, it has 1,123,207 circulation . Many players can get this card easily and most of them just sell it in bundles. Some, focuses on levelling up this monster and rents it to another player to gain extra profit.
Base on the picture above, today, it has lowest selling price of $0.018 in Level 1.
Base on the picture above, today, it has lowest renting price of 0.10 DEC/day in Level 1.
CONCLUSION
So far, the Pelacor Deceiver that I have is Level 3 and even though I am not using it on every battle, it still did great on the market. It is always on renting and lots of players wants to rent it. Overall, this card is really an underrated card that has a very strong potential. If this card can only be place on the right position, partner up with the right line up, and use against the right enemy, this card could lead every player to victory.
WITH THAT, I GUESS ITS TIME TO GIVE ATTENTION FOR THIS CARD.
