You might feel tempted to let me know that the fact that Hawk-Tuah is a podcast now, is just another sign of the times we are living in. I mean, people seem to get famous today for the silliest of reasons, but I still can't seem to accept this all to well.
Wut?
Don't get me wrong, OK. She seems to be a nice girl and all, and someone that I would not mind befriending if I was 20 years younger, but I can't, for the life of me, figure out what is it that she brings to the table.
Now, I'm not going to lie and sit here and tell you I watched the first episode, because I love myself a little more than that, but I did watch "the highlights" because I was hoping to be wrong about the quality of content.
Alas... I was correct
Yes, she has the right to do it
So I'm not sitting here calling for her to be cancelled or anything of the sort. In a way, I think she should ride the wave for as long as she can, since these things can be very ephemeral after all.
It doesn't bother me that she's making a bunch of money for just repeating how she lubes penises for anyone who will host her, that's fine, It's a free country, I'm just disappointed people want to hear it over and over.
Boomer take
My mother told me when I was still quite young that a stupid populace was preferable to one that is highly educated. Easier to control, better consumers, better soldiers, etc.
I remember dismissing mom, thinking that she was exaggerating, more so because she was referring to my generation, one that although less prepared than her, in my opinion, still had the fortune of living in a pre-internet era that had to pickup books, thus vaccinating us even a little bit more against these things.
So yeah, I'm becoming the older male facepalming at the children's behavior, asking himself, how things became so cringe.
