Life, what is life? If not what it really is, Life!
Unstable, uncertain, unsure and unpredictable,
Filled with ups and downs and ridden with strife
Dependent on variables that are forever changeable
Nothing is permanent, every day with its own challenges
A quick turn of events at the turning of every page
Every moment, every minute, every day with its own changes
Experiences piling up at the dawning of every age
Healthy people living their best lives only yesterday
Sleep, only to rise up from their beds with an illness
Next thing you know, they're dead in the hospital today
A brief illness they called it, bringing death in all its fullness
A woman neglected by her husband with nowhere to go
Innocent kids being subjected to a life of hardship and labour
A man striving to earn some dough, yet left with nothing to show
Everyone just looking everywhere for some type of favour
A mixture of realities, a burst of emotions,
One moment you are happy, quickly sad moments follow
Life always has its way of taking us through the motions
Leaving us feeling really empty and hollow
But that's just what life is all about, isn't it?
C'est la vie, the French say, as we win some and lose some
This is our reality as life takes us through its transit
This is life, leaving us uncertain of what it would become
