Propaganda and mental Illness

This has to be one of the most disturbing videos that exist these days, and I'm not saying that as hyperbolic. The man in this video truly believes everything he says, the lies he's been fed, and he's ready to die.

It's my understanding that his own wife was the one who called the cops on him after getting into a physical fight, but I've not seen a reputable source that confirms this.

I realize that the problem of gun violence in America is never going to be without drama, but truthfully the fact that we can't in any way shape or from attempt to fix it is extremely frustrating to me.

A death formula

From where I stand it seems like today's politics, or let's call it, populism politics are predicated on fear. The idea that if you don't vote for X, then Y is going to eat your face and take away your children is quite literally the campaign slogans these days.

You could say, and I'm sure some do, that the hyperbolic nature of political rhetoric is just how the game is played, and thus not playing the game this way will surely lead to defeats, but I simply can't accept this, not at the cost we are paying.

The fear porn we feed the people is clearly radicalizing minds, and in extreme cases, we end up with situations like this.

It's just Thursday

That is the saddest part. Nothing will change, nobody of note will come out and bring balance the the public discourse, tone down the rhetoric, nothing will be done.

The death of this young man will simply be catalogued as a crazy MAGA terrorist, and that will be the end of the whole story.

A world I don't recognize these days...
